Thanks Big A and knovotny for taking me under your wing this year. I can't thank you enough for showing me the ropes. My testimonies were short and sweet but at least I know exactly what the process is. I will be sure and polish my act up for the next round and recruit some others. Thanks to everyone else that showed up today as well. I met a lot of great people!

I didn't go. After 35 years conducting hearings, reviewable at times by an office-gotcha nit-picker, the Circuit Courts, Court of Special Appeals and Court of Appeals, I just couldn't tolerate a monkey trial, and I sure don't want to get tossed out or Red Flagged. Both Federal and State training taught me that a hearing, and conduct of a hearing, must be not only impartial and "Fair'" but must appear impartial and fair.

I really appreciate all that you-all do (and not just because I'm related to a couple of you, who I don't want to embarrass). From what I've read about this Atterbeary, I would have mouthed off at her conduct and the disgusting sham of a "hearing." My suggestion is, instead of preaching to the choir, here, use Facebook, Twitter and even waste your time (although one or two might get through ) with Letters to the Sun, about her unprofessional, spoiled brat, nothing/nobody who just got some power, conduct. Quotes and direct observation, and opinion, stated as opinion, are not liable or slander. Just a thought.

Del. Atterbeary is on video for reference. 59:40 -> 1:07:55 is her question/comment to the opposition panel. (1:07:27 is the exchange where she gets governed by the chair) Other opposition panels she's featured in: 2:25:14 -> 2:26:20, 2:35:40 -> 2:38:46

"Don't have to be present to be there." No ambiguity in this statement ey?

"It doesn't impose a risk until it does." Simple, outlaw everything. Once Mr. Pennick mentioned risk assessment, she was visibly bothered. How dare you!

We need to band together and fight this enmasse. The angry mommies were able to show up in force because they had an unfair advantage; they clearly are made up of trained people without full time jobs, and were given advanced notice by tyrant Atterbeary. I even overheard one of them making a comment that they didn't anticipate as much resistance as last year - a call to the fact that our side was clearly taken advantage of.

We need to expose Atterbeary's corruption. We have her shutting us down on camera, we were given poor notice, and they scheduled bills on top of each other to where many, including myself, could only speak on HB0004.

Anyone have a way to cut those video segments and post them? I’d love to post them on twitter and Facebook. More exposure to the masses the better. I’m all about public shaming.

I can do this. You just want the times listed by PowPow?

When was it supposed to be fair? "Fair" has been specifically excluded from the equation since 2013.

So, in a government that is supposed to have checks and balances, what are the checks on the process? If laws are passed while the legislators almost completely shut out the opposition, what’s a minority to do?

After listening to this hearing it seems clear to me 2 things.
    1. If legislators want to make a change in gun violence enforcing current laws makes most sense.
    2. I need to make some t-shirts utilizing the phrase "common sense" maybe something along the lines of "Dad's use Common Sense" - any other suggestions are appreciated.

I find it the height of irony that the other side can use "Common Sense" in a broad discussion, but when I use it in testimony it is insulting to the entire committee, per the Vice Chair.
