We need to learn how to not feed the trolls.... but still have fun at the trolls expense.

I propose the "Lev928 Rule". Everyone argue with each other without directing it to, or even recognizing the Troll. Let's see how long they, the troll, can hold on.

I mean, we can senselessly argue over nothing for weeks (at least 2) almost 3% of the time.

When the obvious Troll appears, instead of engaging them, invoke the Lev928 Rule.

    God bless the internet.

    and Norton.

Damn, I step away from the computer and in less time than it took for Epstein to not kill himself, 20 pages of troll fodder and a whack from the ban hammer turn a thread into pure gold. :lol2:

That is not supporting a Right. “Look at meeeee!!! I’m so trained!!!! I’m LEO!!!! Carry for life!!!”

You in your smugness wish to prevent huge swaths of the population from defending themselves. The single mother, or lower middle class father who don’t have the money to buy more than a HiPoint, and certainly don’t have the money for all your prescribed training. Don’t they deserve to defend themselves and their families.

Do me a favor, don’t EVER tell another soul you support the 2A because you don’t. You support guns in the hands of people who have the time and money for some nebulous training regimen and skills testing. It’s a poll tax.

Blow it out your well trained ass.

    I owe you a f*cking beer.

Teratos, that will get you a beer from me too. Best post in this thread!

Or...maybe still watching and frantically trying to create a new account that "Big Norton" won't sniff out...one can only hope

Could be, the OP kind of reminds me of another former member who was banned........maybe they were one in the same.

google is your friend, I am not.
I think it's a very reasonable position to say that you should not carry without training, even if you are legally allowed to do so. There are some reasons that makes sense.

It's when you cross the line into "what training must you have to carry?" that you get epic threads like this, I guess. I am sympathetic to the OP's position, but the following make me ultimately move away from it:
    1. Constitutional issues. The right to bear is a thing. It seems clear that the courts have upheld some sort of minimum training requirement, but this is not the same as upholding more extensive training qualifications.
    2. The potential to abuse a minimum training and qualification requirement by increasing it to make it de facto impossible for even decent shooters to obtain a license.
    3. The fact that we don't really know what the right level of training and qualification even is. If you watch ASP, there's a lot of guys who come out on top in armed conflicts who have had no training at all, and, frankly, do not have very good gun handling skills. Yes, luck is a thing, but I'm hesitant to prevent a bunch of people from carrying over standards which are not really necessary for survival or public safety.

Your heart is in the right place, OP. Competence and skill are things all concealed carriers should want more of, and strive for. But I'm not sure this is the cause I'd spend my time fighting for at this stage of the game.

    And:

    4. The fact that we have 16 million+ CCW holders in the USA, most states accept a mere hunting license as training (egads!), or 4 hours of classroom (Utah), or even less in Constitutional Carry States), yet we have negligible accidents or incidents. The anti gun org tracks concealed carry killers - 1360 since 2007 (an overestimate, because its biased) - which works out to be .0007% of CCW holders annually. Over the same period there were 1,000,000 homeowner claims for lightning strikes and about 600 deaths. Your house is 800x more likely to be struck by lightning than you are to be shot hanging around some random CCW holders. Fact. The most dangerous part of CCW is the drive to and from the grocery store - you are more likely to be killed in an accident.

I don't have ANY training, so it wasn't up to me. But I would have thought at least one of you fellas would have challenged that fella to a duel. You know, see how much training he really had. :innocent0

Late to the party, but wow what a expert and operator. I wonder what gun store he hangs out at to tell his war stories and give unsolicited advice to the patrons on gun selection and training drills.
