If you have been through the OAH process and have been denied your restrictions removal as a business owner submit a modification request for your unrestricted permit.

Can they put the receipt from their lawyer in the same envelope? No offense to Ed (for example) intended.

Also wondering out this will pan out for business partners/co-owners, etc. Still, fascinating development. I wonder if a special cover letter during the renewal process would help to avoid the “accidental” re-issue of a restricted permit.

I have to be honest these guys are big players here at MDS , no way for me to win against them .
I know when to hold them and when to fold them .

They intimidated and made me feel as I done wrong and threw a dig or two in for good measure .

    More ********

We are in this together. I appreciate what they do(guys who attend every meeting), and MSI who will be getting another sizeable donation from me based solely on this news today. No need for swinging dicks and jumping on people with good intel, albeit a few minutes prior to announcement

They were wrong, and if they are reading this, they are full of shit for doing so. If they have any issues with me saying so, they can speak up in public.

One of the FB sources posted up something similar just a month ago and looked foolish when it didn't happen. We have also been hearing this was going to happen off and on for years.

Sometimes good intel proves not to be so good.

Real thing is I have blood in this game as well , I am a vested member here that has skin in the game . I have put money where my mouth is , stood tall as long as I could monetary handle it . But there is a hierarchy here at MDS . That is brutal truth .

This ^^^^ and the fact that we have heard these same rumblings over the years and it hasn't panned out. Turns out this time that it is indeed new MSP policy.

Business owners will receive permits without restrictions. Employees and others sponsored by businesses or other entities (think churches and the like) will still have the new "looser" restrictions.

If you are a business owner submit a modification request for your new unrestricted permit.

If you have been through the OAH process and have been denied your restrictions removal as a business owner submit a modification request for your unrestricted permit.

due tell I'll go back a couple pages and see what i missed

So.... where's the official announcement? I got my date (October 7th), much rather just get the corrected permit than go through the ******** quasi-courtroom clown show down there.

Wonder if they'll contact the people who they KNOW have been waiting several months now?

That post was a limited post that never covered a topic just "big News" .

The new post today had a specific topic and subject matter which came from an attorney I trusted , plus a total of two more sources mentioned it .

I just relayed information already in the public domain .

The person that I spoke to tonight said that it should be posted on their website but that decision was above his pay grade. Said that every other change is posted so he didn't see why this one wouldn't be.

If I were you I would call the LD in the morning and ask when your new permit will be mailed.

Why do I feel like if they lift the restrictions on a carry permit for business owners they will simultaneously raise the bar for obtaining a business owner permit?

I'm going to be optimistic and think that they can see that the light at the end of the tunnel is a Shall Issue court ordered smackdown.

    Maybe.

Or maybe Hogan found his manhood and did the right thing.

    Maybe.

Who knows? What is important is that we have taken a baby step forward in regaining our rights here in the People's Republic.

Interesting, a few weeks ago one of the Sgts. at the MSP licensing division told me that the troopers he worked with were trying hard to get the superintendent to change the policies in a way that would make a lot of people happy.

Great news. Maybe some of the more reasonable troopers in the LD are following the HPRB threads here (or listening to arguments at the actual hearings). Thanks to AppleHD, Stoveman, and other hearing stalwarts (that post threads and commentary on the hearings) ... as well as MSI, Ed H, and other players that have been making the argument about the dangers of restrictions.

Second hand info but it plays into what is being said here. Person who shall remain nameless got a call from Sgt Pickle and was told that he was printing out his unrestricted permit as they spoke. It was up to the appellant if he wanted to appear for his hearing this evening but making the schlep was really unnecessary.

I relayed all of these developments to Mrs. Occam this evening, and she looked at me like we'd just popped into that alternate Star Trek universe where Spock had that stylish goatee.

I re-explained the whole situation from 30,000 feet, and reminded her of some of the gory details of my permit/HPRB saga, and then told her what seems to now be the new reality. She gave me that "what's the catch, here" look. That's a very natural reaction, for sure.
