1. Northam signs bill to allow private and religious schools to have armed school security officers
************************************************************
Governor Northam has signed HB 1656, Delegate Mark Cole, into law. Starting on July 1, private and religious schools can hire armed school security officers.
That leaves three bills yet to be acted on. Northam doesn't have to respond to them before March 26:
HB 2253, Delegate Pogge, requires the Virginia State Police to process non-resident CHPs within 90 days. This bill would become effective on October 1, 2019.
HB 2548, Delegate Rush, requires that information on persons who have had their firearms rights restored be available to police in the field 24/7.
SB 1179, Senator Stuart, allows military personnel domiciled in Virginia, but stationed out of state, to apply for a resident CHP to the Circuit Court Clerk in the area where they are domiciled.

2. VCDL/GOA lawsuit on the bump stock ban update
************************************************************
The VCDL/GOA bump-stock lawsuit is ongoing. The Court will hear our request on March 6 to put a stay on the bump-stock ban until the Court can rule on our lawsuit.
The regulation goes into effect on March 26 if we can't get a stay.
There is no need to do anything with your bump stocks for the time being, and certainly not before March 26. Stay tuned!

Tom Gresham, a gun-rights radio personality (host of Gun Talk), lays out the plan that has been telegraphed by the gun controllers. He also talks about derailing those plans:
