Oh yeah, MESSAGE RECEIVED in Annapolis!

    More bias there as well.

Blah blah - came to support stronger protections.

blah blah - They oppose what they saw as attempts to limit their constitutional right to bear arms.

Balanced would have removed the bolded part (my emphasis) or added it to the Red Coats paragraph.

Yup....they don’t even see the bias. We have “alledged” infringement and their side has “obvious loopholes”....

Interestingly, on the way over Wednesday morning on the shuttle, a number of state employees were talking amongst themselves about if the "gun lobby" was coming back again. Nothing negative, just conversational. So I spoke up and said we weren't the lobby, just regular people showing up who care about our rights. They seemed surprised, but reacted well to that. They didn't seem to have an opinion, but listened and were polite. Hopefully they went back to their respective offices and shared that tidbit of information.

I found through PP engagements that normal, everyday people respond to polite conversation with polite conversation. Quite often they become enlightebned.

OTOH, the Bloomberg Rent-A-Mommies respond to polite conversation with

LOUD accusations => LOUD ranting => SCREAMED NAME CALLING => Stomping away, screaming incoherent curses.

Maybe he should pay them $15.hr...

    Great story Katie. Typical!

The Annapolis bureaucrats are so programmed to think in terms of Bloomberg Fake News paid activists that they can’t process that regular folks show up to demand that our Rights be respected.

    Post up more pics, Katie!

This relates to an experience I had with someone I know who works in the MGA. Knowing I'm interested in these bills, she asked me why there was an apparent crowd size difference between Monday and yesterday. I answered that many people can't afford to take multiple days off from work to come to Annapolis, even if they care deeply about the issue. She followed up with "well, why didn't they spread it out then?". I had to explain that the 2a crowd that she sees in Annapolis protesting and attending hearings is not some slick lobbying organization with professionally-organized transport in support of a huge, centrally-bankrolled national advocacy effort. It's just people who get the word out to other people, who all show up if they can because they care. We're not told where to be and when by someone sitting in an office trying to maximize the per-person effect, we just figure out what we can do and do it.

I think many staffers (and I'm assuming legislators) see us this way, because its how they're used to seeing political advocacy done, and it's how political parties work when they're doing get-out-the-vote efforts. It behooves us to dispel this when we can by reminding them that we're just a bunch of people who care. We don't have buses and coordinators, and we're not a "managed" group of people there because we're all on some single email blast.

    Just something to think about.

Watching the lady from the gazette testify I understand that it was a terrible ordeal. What I don't understand is the reaction for more gun control. She spoke on how Wendi tried to fight back with a recycling container. How she tried to hide, then run and had to hide again. I would think she now has first hand experience that the only person that can responsible for your safety is yourself. If Wendi had a gun instead of a recycling container, would more of them survived, maybe maybe not but the chance to up for a better out come. I just can't wrap my feeble mind around her mind set. The people died from the lack of a tool to deal with someone with evil intentions. So let's make the tools even harder to obtain.

    Exactly!

As many of you know, we are always prepped and ready to talk to the media to get our side out.

On-camera appearances by Paul Brockman (Stoveman) were followed with interviews by Katie Knovotny
(wearing and explaining our ”We Will Not Comply”shirt) along with our Kevin Hulbert and many others, like our amped up on IDFinfantry!

It is funny that MDA is called a "grass roots" organization and we are called the "gun lobby". Uh, it's just the opposite.......

Wasn’t quite clear when she said she was injured in the attack was she shot or did she just run into a door frame (not trying to be funny).

On the other hand I’ve been in car accidents due to other drivers. Didn’t take out my anger at the car manufacturers or other drivers, just the one who was at fault.

The best I understood it she tangled her feet together and smacked the door frame.

But not everybody in Annapolis, was having a good week.

    The calls are accelerating—including from
Gov. Hogan —for Democrat delegate Mary Ann Lisanti to RESIGN after being overhead by many other delegates calling PG county a “n****r district”.

Seriously, this is how Democraps talk at parties? The answer is yes.

Funny, there have also been demands that Lisanti attend “re-training”. How the hell is Lisante’s deeply-held racism going to be “re-trained” out of her?

There is supposed to be a special evening session tonight to censure Lisanti.

Seriously, a yes or no vote about being a racist or not?

I am sorry for what she had to go through but I felt like I was watching a well rehearsed drama. She was truly way over the top. I hope the MGA saw right through her as well

I could only listen to so much of her novel before I had to walk out into the hallway. It was so disgusting and disingenuous.

The same thought ran thru my head also. If she or someone else had a gun to protect themselves the out come might have turned out very differently. If you have a mentally ill person attacking you, as he was, you need every tool you can have to make sure the outcome ends up favorably for you. We need to start focusing on mental illness and how this is a common theme with these type of attacks.

Mental illness is most definitely the common theme in almost all mass shootings. This is a slippery slope, though. The overwhelming majority of the mentally ill are not at increased risk for violence and are much more likely than the general population to be victims of violence. They deserve the right to protect themselves. It has to be a very neatly tailored argument and not come across as a witch hunt.

I thought the same thing while sitting in the conference room. I would have liked to hear one of the senators ask her, if she had a firearm, would she have used it. But that I’m sure would be construed as insensitive bullying.

I think her way-over-the -top and excessive drama clearly overshadowed her story.

Written and rehearsed, as one would expect. But, I feel she lost it on delivery and honesty. The wife was more hurting. I do truly feel for them. But, that makes me more passionate about my right to defend my loved ones and myself.
