Greatly appreciate the education. One of the reasons I have a C&R is because I enjoy the military/political history associated with various firearms.
OK ... then here's a little bit more info. This is why I'm not as negative about import marks as some people. They help to find out neat information about specific firearms that were brought into the U.S.
KSI was K-Sports Imports, Inc. While technically separate companies, some of the key figures in KSI were also involved with J's Pacific Enterprise Inc. A fellow named Jay Lin seems to have been the head of both companies, and they were located on the same premises.
In 1994, a U.S. Customs officer executed a search warrant for K-Sports, and apparently a whole lot of merchandise was confiscated. Subsequently, K-Sports went to court to get its property back, and the judge found errors in the warrant, primarily because they were not specific and because all of the merchandise and all of the computer records (including some of the stuff that was technically J's Pacific Enterprises property and records) were impounded. He ordered most of the property returned, but found that 1,000 firearms, purported to be full-auto weapons, were to be retained by U.S. Customs.
KSI, Jay's (J's) Pacific Enterprise (JSE), and Snow Bee USA, Inc., all seem to have closed shop not long thereafter. Companies in which Jay Lin may have been involved (along with other key figures in KSI) were:
Js Pacific Enterprise Inc
Brolin Precision Industry, Inc
K-Sports Imports, Inc
Brolin Imports, Inc
Waffen Systems, Inc
Jw Group Limited
Snow Bee Usa, Inc
