Quinn ended up with less than 12,500 votes, 0.6%.

That's less than half of what he received in 2014. Backwardization.

Maybe his 2A stance in Blue Maryland wasn't a big vote-getter.

    Bullying?

Please remind us of which side accused the other of being a “Hogan circle jerk”... called the other side “Hoganites” and “Hoganbots”?

Sorry fellas... it was Hogan or jealous... not a damn thing any of us could have done to change that. And Quinn??? He didn’t even get the traditional MDS 3%.

I’m not a Hogan Fan... but I know that we will suffer one hell of a lot less with him in the State House than with jealous running the show into the ground. Jealous is our version of NY’s Cortez.
So you weren't one that was involved in the socialist shaming of others that were expressing a desire to vote Quinn or write-in, putting forward the specious argument that by voting Quinn or write-in, that Jealous would win? And if you weren't, are you denying that this didn't occur?

And I'm pretty sure there was more of the shaming and belittling of this alternative opinion to Hogan before there was reciprocal mocking of those who advocated Hogan and couldn't help themselves but also put down others that didn't. I have no problem with Hogan support but suggesting that one is a socialist if you didn't support the guy was a dumb argument.

Hogan had such a commanding lead (nothing like Trump and Clinton) that it was realistically a one person race. To suggest if MDSers didn't support him that he might lose was a ridiculous assertion by those that made it.

Ditto. We could have had a FL or GA situation here just as easy. I tried to be reasonable and somewhat logical in my argument.
I wouldn't put you in that camp of persons that were so insecure with Hogan's clear lead that they needed to try to chicken little others to support him as you were thoughtful in discussions with others. I do disagree that we had anything resembling FL or GA. Hogan had Democratic party endorsements, a huge polling advantage, and the DNC and other organizations didn't see worth investing in the Jealous campaign.

Hogan was the better of the two democrats on the ballet. Kind of like Trump. :) Pity Hogan doesn't have the moral fiber to act a little more like Trump.

And that's too bad, isn't it. It strongly suggests to the state GOP that the 2A doesn't matter because Hogan can brag about the NRA not liking him and intimate future gun control and not hurt himself in the 2A community. How many more in the MD state GOP will adopt his model after looking at the polling results?

Hogan's a Democrat with a few conservative tendencies dressed up as a Republican. Some can feel comfortable supporting that or even telling themselves that they protected us from Jealous by supporting him (with 300-500k Democrats). He was a lock. MDSers didn't need to support him or suggest that if we didn't that Jealous would win.

Hogan is the governor for the next 4 years. Take your toys and go home. Right, wrong, or indifferent, the election is over and we know who the players are, we just don't know what their agenda is at this time.

Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

The big difference is Trump had both houses of Congress, Hogan has been dealing with a democrat super majority in both houses that has fought him every step of the way over riding every one of his vetoes.

Hogan pushed hard to pick up 5 seats in the senate which would have allowed his vetos to stick but unfortunately only picked up 2, losing Deb Ray and Gail Bates hurt. Hogan is still a Governor with no power to make significant changes.

Fought him every step of the way??

Didn't seem like there was a whole lot of fight going on during this:

Not sure how hard he pushed to pick up seats either. Outside of seeing "Hogan Endorsed" on some campaign signs, I didn't see a whole lot of support.

You take one event and don't look at the other 4 years, you neglect to mention tax cuts, pension tax reductions, roads getting built and other accomplishments all that Hogan had to fight the GA for.

Hell, just to get roads built he had to overcome the GA taking away what had traditionally been the Governors power when they came up with the Transportation Scoring Bill to take the power away from the Governor, he had to fight that for 2 years before road projects got started again and of course when they got started some of you claimed Hogan was just doing it because an election was coming up.

But I suppose you would rather return to the days of Owemalley with 42 tax increases, stealing the transportation fund, banning a whole class of firearms, passing every wack job libron bill without at least attempting a veto.

Hogan is an outlier in a deep blue state.

Anybody who doesn't believe that, look at the down ballot election results, and also look at the 2016 Presidential election results. Hillary crushed Donald.

You folks who keep bitching about Hogan ought to be bitching about your fellow Marylanders. They cast the ballots.

    Educate and change them.

No, it's the voters who need to change or those who don't embrace Maryland values should move south or west, like capitalist industry and freedom-loving people have been doing for decades.

Hogan as a liberal Republican was the best Republican the R's could run in MD. He won, and broke records. Anybody more conservative wouldn't have gotten a first term, let alone reelected.

Notice how most of the great firearms manufacturers were founded in New England and either moved south or disappeared? Beretta finally gave up on Maryland under O'Mao as the tyrants' control spread south and cracked down on civil liberties.

Virginia was so naive it let itself get the double whammy: NOVA growth explosion and flim-flammed by the Clintonistas and Hillary's moneyman, McAuliffe.

    Next stop: NC and/or TN.
