so you where one of the lucky ones. Looks good I've followed your lead started looking at their sight every day when i can.Wish i had 600. to blow I'd pick up the yugo in the classifieds

I got a great deal from a member on the boards for my Norinco and refinished the stock as it was Chinese painted wood (and kind of beatup) Stripped it and just used tru-oil on it. Gas tube cover was an eBay pickup as the seller had lost the original and only had a poly one. I had to strip that as well, but it is a different species of wood. Much blonder. I had to stain it and then tru-oil it and then it matched. Metal was in great shape.

My scout rifle build will probably end up costing me $500-600 in the end including optic. ~$80 shipped on the barreled receiver and I already spent $105 shipped for a complete FCG and $80 for a complete bolt and bolt carrier. I don’t plan to get anything else for a bit, but I figure the stock I want is about $80, the scope mount is $80 and the scopes I am looking at for long eye relief are $50-80. That’s about $500 right there and doesn’t include other little bits I need, like recoil spring and guide rod, magazine assembly, dust cover, gas tube, a return spring and a gas piston and transfer piston. I figure all those little bits are another $100 or so of small parts.

Yeah, SOG seems to be putting up new inventory once or twice a day. Often times nothing interesting, but when it is something interesting it isn’t much. Like three Galils in 5.56. I’d be surprised if it was more than a couple of dozen barreled SKS received they had in stock. Just lucked out.

Still pissed I missed the $159 Steyrs in 8x56R they had maybe 6 weeks ago as their inventory was dwindling to nothing.

Aim Surplus has shooter grade CZ82's for $269

    Damnit!

After all if that waiting and looking I had gone Classic for mine about 3 months ago because their’s were $40 cheaper at the time. Mine is “shooter grade” with a ton of the finish missing. Seems to work okay (I think my issue is a mag issue).

I guess woulda coulda. Don’t really need a second one.

Ruger 10/22 with wood stock on sale for $199.98 at Dicks sporting goods.

Appreciate the heads up, & while that's a good price, most folks here have a less than positive opinion of the Dicks. That's due to how they handled themselves after mass shootings. Not your fault.

Allan's Armory has four Carcanos with decent bores in stock now. One rifle, three 91/TS. One 91/TS is an 8 x 57 if someone needs that to round out a Carcano collection.
They aren't perfect, but Allan's bore description is usually conservative and the rest of his descriptions are spot on. He's honest about that and nice to deal with.

Lol, I'm improving! I'm now kicking myself for missing Mosin Crate's sale of Russian Makarov's in August (from the personal collection of a guy that literally wrote the book on them) ...

I notice he has had several lots of high powers. A little disappointed they aren’t going C&R. Though I understand why he doesn’t want to do the research on each one to see if it is C&R.

But still dissapointing. If it wasn’t $70-90 extra for shipping, MSP and transfer fees on top it would be a good price (well, it probably still is. I could hate myself for spending $650 on one. I really can’t swing close to $750 in the end).

I miss the days when this thread was one of the most active threads on the board.

I would need so many more gun safes if that was true.

    Or a new marriage.

    Or both.

Or I would have gone “oh, well some other time. That’s only $100 and really who’d spend $100 on that? It’ll come back down to $80. Just you watch”
