so you where one of the lucky ones. Looks good I've followed your lead started looking at their sight every day when i can.Wish i had 600. to blow I'd pick up the yugo in the classifieds
I got a great deal from a member on the boards for my Norinco and refinished the stock as it was Chinese painted wood (and kind of beatup) Stripped it and just used tru-oil on it. Gas tube cover was an eBay pickup as the seller had lost the original and only had a poly one. I had to strip that as well, but it is a different species of wood. Much blonder. I had to stain it and then tru-oil it and then it matched. Metal was in great shape.
My scout rifle build will probably end up costing me $500-600 in the end including optic. ~$80 shipped on the barreled receiver and I already spent $105 shipped for a complete FCG and $80 for a complete bolt and bolt carrier. I don’t plan to get anything else for a bit, but I figure the stock I want is about $80, the scope mount is $80 and the scopes I am looking at for long eye relief are $50-80. That’s about $500 right there and doesn’t include other little bits I need, like recoil spring and guide rod, magazine assembly, dust cover, gas tube, a return spring and a gas piston and transfer piston. I figure all those little bits are another $100 or so of small parts.
Yeah, SOG seems to be putting up new inventory once or twice a day. Often times nothing interesting, but when it is something interesting it isn’t much. Like three Galils in 5.56. I’d be surprised if it was more than a couple of dozen barreled SKS received they had in stock. Just lucked out.
Still pissed I missed the $159 Steyrs in 8x56R they had maybe 6 weeks ago as their inventory was dwindling to nothing.
