I think it is a disgrace that you purport to be a “trainer” but don’t seem to understand the foundation for what you do.

Education time: at the time of the Founding Fathers, the term “well-regulated” had NOTHING to with Govt supervision or regulating of firearms. At that time “well-regulated” was a synonym for clock precision.

It is a reference to citizens well-drilled in their responsibilities.

Now go find some bongos. Bongo greatness awaits.
Can you say “persona non grata?”

I'm guessing the OP was grateful for the time off so he could answer the overwhelming amount of phone calls he received and schedule classes after his last epic thread.

"You have reached Mandatory Training, Inc. If you wish to schedule Maryland's mandatory 85 hour training class, press 1. If you are a public official and wish to schedule a class on how to hit a B27 target at 7 yards, press 2. If you are a poor oppressed minority in Baltimore City, press 3. If you think that the 2A only applies to a well regulated militia, press 4. If you're mentally unstable, press 5, or just leave a message after the beep."

SCOTUS already decided what it means in Heller. Go troll somewhere else why dontcha?
As you said, this is academic given that SCOTUS has made the interpretation, but in this decision making, no doubt the Virginia Declaration of Rights from 1776 (which Mason and Madison helped write) was influential, as Jefferson drew from it in helping write the first ten amendments of the US Constitution. Sections 12 and 13, respectively, were modified to become the First and Second Amendments. Here is the text from the Virginia 13th ...

    https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/virginia-declaration-of-rights

That a well-regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state; that standing armies, in time of peace, should be avoided as dangerous to liberty; and that in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.

Obviously a key semicolon was introduced in the writing of the US Second Amendment to make clear that any rationale for the right to keep and bear arms (including a militia of the people) was not required for them to exercise this right ... and the people's rights, as the first ten amendments focus on, are exactly that.

I had the good fortune and really enjoyed blasting those bongos with a tripod mounted MG42. I would gladly do it it again. Someone needed to silence the bongos.

WTF. In one way, I wish I knew what it was that drives people who've been here for years to just go-off-the-deep-end and shitpoast until committing SBM (suicide-by-moderator) and in another way, I'm glad that I don't. All I know for sure is that if I ever became weary of the topics and/or characters on MDS, I'd quietly depart without all the butt-hurt melodrama and ridiculous attempts to troll.
