Nope, I keep them. If I don't someone else will. One hook where the fish escaped near shore was a #12, that thing is tiny.
Try pinching the Barb's down on one(if trebble, all three). You'll actually get better hook penetration. We do that on our salmon and striper flies and lures and almost never lose fish.

My daughter and I went to New York for salmon for a few days this past week. We fished Thursday, Friday, and for about two hours Saturday morning. Thursday we didn't do much, had a few hooked but not landed. We had a bit of a learning curve. Friday we landed four salmon, and she landed a nice brown trout. Saturday we landed two, with a trip total of about 25 hooked.

We were at choptank last Friday, we caught two oyster fish and a baby rock. Just try to find another spot to catch some white perch, maybe we will give metapeak a shot this week.

Did a little skinny water striper fishing yesterday evening with a buddy... we launched right at high tide, so the action was slow for an hour or so, caught a couple shorts, then as the tide stared to ebb, we finally got on em.. We lost several keepers (shallow water, obstructions, etc), but we managed to boat a few nice ones, including one over 30". It sure is fun fishing for stripers like largemouth fishing! :lol2:

White Perch, are good for a fish fry.
did you just skin and cut the head/tail off?

I'm not sure if many of you bass fish like I do but right now the bite is hot! I have a hard time deciding between hunting and fishing this time of the year but Saturday I went to Rocky Gorge and tore them up from my new kayak. Here's the best.

Have you been down southern MD between Prince Frederick and Waldorf? its close to the 231 bridge on the east side by some commercial buildings. theres a bass area that you wouldnt think theres even bass in this place but I caught many bass there. I could see big ones up further but I couldnt get to them by foot.

How were you fishing? Trolling? Jigging? Live lining? If trolling what sizes/colors? Water Temp/Depth?
