I am still waiting on an eFile Form1 on a Trust for a Destructive Device.

    Form Entered/Pending 5/28/16

    Still waiting for approval.

Update: Just called BATFE to check as I was originally told 6 months for approval. Approval now stands at 8 months and with eFile it is apparently all over the place. So, based on what the very nice lady at the NFA branch told me, it could be any time now up to 8 months. So January at the latest I guess. Hoping for an early Christmas present though. :D

I just went online to check on a form 1 I supposedly submitted in January for an SBR.

It's right there in the account. Validated, never submitted. Worst thing is, I can't remember if I paid for the tax stamp already?

Man, I'm not even sure what to do at this point.

I'm guessing if I submitted it now I'd be under the new regulations for a trust, even though the form was created before the law changed?

I'll see if I can track my credit card transactions back that far and see if there is a charge to the ATF.

    This is such a bummer.

I feel your pain. I was so happy when I got two suppressors out of jail only to realize I still have two more being held hostage :sad20:

Actually, I did the same thing. Got my last eFile in, three days before the dead line. Went back some two weeks later to just kinda double check my account. Low and behold(!), I never hit the submit button(which I was sure I had) after paying. There it sat in drafts. I punched the submit button. What the hell else could I do?

Dug up some old paperwork from 2010. Total time was about three months.
These wait times are bad for business. Who wants to spend about $800 + $200 and then wait 8 mos.
Is the industry lobbying to fix this?

I may just do that and see what happens. What's the worst that could happen? I get notified that I have to re-submit?

Probably easier than trying to get my $200 bucks back.

    Of course they are.

Have you heard of the Hearing Protection Act?

It's a bill that would amend the Internal Revenue Code to remove suppressors from the purview of the NFA altogether.

I tried last night. No dice. It kept telling me to enter my password to submit then the website would go all crazy looking, with a bunch of code in place of where the words used to be.

I emailed them to ask the question. I'll probably hear back from them in another 6 months.

Yeah it must be tough when you lose track of how many suppressors you have in ATF jail, lol

Same boat, but I have given it quite a bit of thought.

Bren 801 SBR, Scorpion SBR with extended handguard for integrated suppressor look, PTR 32 SBR, Galil ACE SBR, Zenith Z43P SBR, AEM5 suppressor, and the list goes on....

Don't be surprised. The Ask the Expert thing works well. They answer back promptly within a couple days. Most credit card online thingys archive over a year back. Who knows, if they took the money back in January maybe they'll let you pass, but then again Gov't is stickler for details. At least get your money back.

Thanks! Hopefully I do hear back quickly. At this point, I'd take it or leave it. If it can go through without having to go through the new requirements, that'd work. If not and I can get my money back, that'd work too.
