I don't mince words nor do I suffer fools well. I say what I mean and mean what I say...and my tact on 2A issues went out the window long ago. I am convinced that if the 2A community as a whole got their sh*t together and told the government that we collectively refused to comply with their illegal, unconstitutional laws they would leave us alone... but the group is way to fractured for that to ever happen..

DBLAS send me a PM where I can send you $45. It's worth it just to see what Hogan will do...just promise me you will make a decent effort to get answers and give us a full report...leave nothing out..

I would like to point out that if 2A advocates have to stoop to ambushing the governor in order to corner him on 2A issues, it's probably a sign that he's not on our side...

It seems to me that the Gov's position is pretty clear. Save your money boys and head on over to the Casino at Arundel Mills. You'll get a lot more bang for the buck over there. I did vote for the rascal, but I might not to be around for his next bid.

I think his position is clear that he isn't going to jump into the middle of traffic for us, but he'll make quiet moves to help here and there and prevent the situation from getting any worse. He's a political pragmatist, which is about the only way to get into statewide office as a Republican in a place like Maryland.

That said, I do think he could be doing more for us without causing himself significant headaches. But to pretend he's done nothing or that he's as bad as the competition is disingenuous at best. My thought is to continue to put pressure on him but also provide him and the people under him with politically palatable/legally feasible ways to help us so he has options on the table.

We can't simply tell him we want our 2A rights respected and expect that he'll flip a freight train of infringement that's been chugging along for 40+ years right back to its starting station. It just isn't realistic; particularly in this state. You want fast changes, pack the SCOTUS with 2A supporters and get cases there ASAP and/or pack the MD legislature with 2A supporters and hand them ready-to-roll legislation to introduce and pass. Governor isn't going to get you quick and drastic changes regardless of who he is. And if he tried, the blowback in the legislature would have most of us packing our bags.

I will believe all of this we HE says it and not until...name one other pro 2A Republican at any level of government who hid their pro 2A stance for political reasons....you can't....until he says otherwise he's anti...I want to hear it from his own lips...

I wouldn't call him an anti; just ambivalent. Which may be worse, because he could go either way.

    We shall see...
