As the title states. I am in Annapolis. Bonus points for closest distance! I am looking for places to have a gun transferred if I were to say buy something online. I can't seem to find this info for most places although some do have it listed! Thanks for helping me save some time calling around! Maybe as answers come in I could make a list for everyone to have access to!

What if the closest one was $50 but another one 15 miles away was $40? 25 miles, $25 and so on. How far would you go to save 20 bucks?

I would go 10 miles to save $20. But show me somewhere that is even within 10 miles lol. And $50!

Thank you sir! Yea Rockville isn't the closest! However that's good prices! I believe they are the same as 2A. Waiting to hear back from them!

If 2A can't help we are happy to assist. We do a ton of transfers and are super efficient with the whole process. Little bit of a drive but we do have plenty of Annapolis customers believe it or not. Thanks for the consideration.

Thanks! The distance honestly isn't worth the price! 2A is currently doing them for $60 and they aren't that far. Will probably stick with them for now! Thanks though for the response!

I am sure that it is way too far for most of you, but The Trading Post in Freeland, MD is $40 total for a regulated transfer. Not sure about non regulated fee. I will ask when I am there Friday to pick up my new Dan Wesson.

You should just stop in different gun shops and see what their price are for what you want.

For me, the buyer effort and paying $50 for a transfer fee to save $30-50 when all said and done isn't worth it to me unless it's something really rare or the sale price is a few hundred dollars less than everyone.

Is that Thompson's old place on York Rd in MD Line? What is it like? $40 including $10 MSP is pretty cheap? Lived in Freeland for 13 years moved just a bit further south 13 years ago.

2A is my FFL of choice. Not sure on their current prices though.

I cannot say enough good things about either of these stores. I've bought from both of them several times and they are my go-to LGSs. I'm near Ft. Meade so 2A is close by for me and not far for you. Highly recommend them, the staff is phenomenally helpful and friendly. Seth, Tom, all of them. Good dudes.

United is just a great, great experience. VERY well thought out store. Check out their online catalog, it pulls directly from their distributors so if you see it there you can add it to your cart, click check out and pay. It's DANGEROUSLY convenient, I wound up buying a rifle just because I got a little excited one day. They have a great consignment section, too. One of the biggest I've seen.

I feel obliged to mention On Target as well. They've had some poor staff in the past, but that has changed dramatically for the better over the last couple of years. Their prices aren't great, but there is that super handy indoor range to consider.

Yep it is $40 total. I am not sure if it was Thompson's or not. It is right next to the PNC bank. He doesn't have a lot of inventory on hand, but can order in just about anything. Real nice guy to deal with.

Thanks a bunch for all the feedback! I've went with 2A for this purchase! Will come back to review possibly when the time comes for my 1911 purchase

Hello- from Annapolis also and I use Scotts Gunsmithing in Glen Burnie. The Price is $50.00 for Rifles & Shotguns, and $85.00 for Handguns (Includes MSP Paperwork Fee). Good local shop with highly knowledgeable staff. Personally I think it's better to support the local guy even if its a few bucks more otherwise when they fold up it sucks for everyone.
