Zerkin's statement in the article is refreshing.

It's what you get after too much Miller and Busch...
Free-flowing Frosh.
I am just throwing this out there: Would it be a horrible no good thing if they combined this with SB0184 to make MD shall issue?
It is hard to know why people are getting 30 days or not prosecuted. Maybe quite a few are intimidated by the process. If we made it easier for law abiding people to get permits, and combined it with a stiffer penalty for actual crime, seems like a win-win.
I'd like that - as long as the fine print clearly protects the law abiding (that would be a refreshing change too!)
We're still talking about Maryland, right?
This is the bill proposed publicly by BPD Chief Kevin Davis (on behalf of Frosh), and it WILL apply to carrying outside handgun permit restrictions. This is a horrible bill for a multitude of reasons.

The problem is that carrying outside of your permit, or violating legally prohibited places is the same as the pimp or drug dealer carrying a stolen firearm without a permit.
Seems to me that permit restrictions are a corollary to G&S. With G&S repealed, I think (most) permit restrictions go too.
There will always be legally prohibited places like schools though. Every state has it's peculiarities around those that you have to watch for.
Has anyone invited John Lott, Shannon Watts, Alan Gottlieb, and others who handle legislative issues 24/7 around the country and have access to relevant facts and figures at their fingertips, to testify on this and all the other legislation the MGA has before it, to pepper the record with real facts and make the arguments that are being made in other jurisdictions?
Think it is that easy? I know those in the LD would put something on the permit to restrict you. They try everything they can.
Huh?
I think he means the other Shannon!
