FYI(for anyone who has never been to this show):
You will NOT find any modern ammo at this show. There are NO handguns for sale newer than 120 years old and basically nothing else you will see at this show is newer than World War II. No AR's, no AK's, but you might see a display of WWII Tommy guns. Also there's no jewelry, no roasted nuts(I think), no fudge, no beanie babies, and absolutely NO BEEF JERKY. But there are some food venders selling food and drinks.

Cool to go see but I can never afford anything for sale there. Outside of my single-purchase window size

Not all the prices are high. There were some great deals last year on antique revolvers in excellent or better condition. I got three for $900 total. Can't touch those prices online for the condition, be it Collectors Firearms, Joe Salter, or similar. I passed over a bunch of nice suicide specials last year in the $200-$300 range.

I'm looking forward to this show as well.

Do any of you know the organizers of the show personally? I sent an email to the address listed on their website about HB703 and HB542. I would think they have a vested interest in fighting these two proposed bills if not any of the others.

I just wonder if they are in the loop or are they one of those organizations that do their thing but don't get involved in politics.

Given the cost of some of these antiques, I would think there are a significant number of well heeled collectors that could exert some pressure.

This is my favorite show... just remember if the new laws go through in Oct classifying antique, replica, and black powder firearms the same as modern guns in MD, this show and the entire hobby of antique arms collecting will be RUINED in Maryland. This very well may be the last meaningful show of its kind in the Old Line State.

Pick up your torches and pitch-forks my friend. Something has got to be done about this none-sense.

That would kill this wonderful legacy venue for sure. Took a look at some of the proposed legislature and they're now down in the weeds by going after antique, replica, bb & pellet guns. Next it'll be sharp sticks. Just when you thought there was nothing of any substance to go after. Beyond embarrassing.

Fantastic show, really the only one in the region I consider a "must-attend". Everything else is the same stuff...this show has the interesting items.

Yes, it might be the last show as it is now if Md Legislators screw with the definition of antique firearms as they are planning on doing.

    No modern ammo?

    Or just no modern calibers?

They don't ban that outright, except modern handguns, toys that look like them, modern ammo in "bulk", plus the non-gunshow stuff ie. jerky, they just discourage vendors from bringing other stuff to keep the quality of the show high. That is, for what it is meant to be, a collector's show.
