Just wanted to know, who all was taking a youth out deer hunting this weekend?
Good luck to all that do. It should be pretty good, as the rut seems to be in full swing.

I wish them all the best of luck. My oldest son got his first deer on a youth hunting day many years ago. That was a great day!

Deer are running around crazed... seen lots of buck this week, good luck to the little ones!!

Givin them the morning hunt, but I'm gonna sneak out with my bow and orange hat later this morning for an afternoon sit in a tree, hoping they chase one to me.. :innocent0 :ninja:

My 11 year old son, woke up not feeling well, he was very upset to miss the morning hunt. Hopefully he will be better, so we can go out this evening. Last year on Sunday of youth day, he shot a nice 8 point. That was the 1st buck he ever got. A memory he and I will never forget.

Went this morning in Frederick County, only heard 2 shots also. Had 1 small doe hanging around for 45 minutes, nothing else moving. Pulled Game camera and got the tail lights of a 4 wheeler.

I guess I'm gonna have to spend some time trying to meet up with the trespasser.

My 14 yo son just took and passed his Hunter Safety course this year. He's been hunting with me for a couple of years, but he's now licensed to shoot his own!!
Anyway he got one this am, 13 minutes after sunrise!! It was a 3-point--2 on one side one on the other. Healthy year and a half-86# field dressed. Not the biggest, but he was so excited and pumped to kill his first! Cloud nine. So cool to see his excitement. Great day!

Sorry, couldn't post a pic if my life depended on it. But did take a few pics of it. Good luck to the other yoots today! Stay safe.

I heard some shots when checking my traps in Harford. Saw a man and boy either coming back to their truck, or getting ready for an evening hunt, about 3:30 in Cecil. I figure deer wouldn't be moving much in this heavy wind, but the rut IS on right now, sooooo...

Cloud nine is right! Some firsts you never forget.

Sounds like a great day all around. Congrats to both of you!

13 YO finally got his first deer after a frustrating early ML season where we saw lots of deer, but they wouldn't cooperate. He got it done this morning though!
