Wanted to get a community opinion on this. I have a budget of about $700 and am looking for a 1911, I'm a bit skeptical of some of the budget 1911's ive found in my research such as

    http://store.unitedgunshop.com/product.citidel-m-1911-45acp-5-barrel-8-round-blackhogue-grips

But I've been unable to find a decent review.

Anyone have any suggestions of brands or models in my price range?
I'm looking for a full size 5" barrel, skeleton trigger, and ring hammer.
Also prefer .45 but would consider .40 S&W.

Thanks for any and all help.

Springfield Armory Range Officer. Full sized 1911, has the specs you're looking for, in your price range. I have one. It comes from the factory ready to shoot any .45 ACP ammunition, and includes holster and mag holders.

I love my Ruger SR1911. It was my first 1911 but will not be my last. The Springfield Armory Range Officer was also on my short list but I found a deal on the Ruger I could not pass up.

The FBI Hostage Rescue team uses Springfield 1911's. More expensive but gives an idea about the basic gun's quality.

LOL let me fix this for you.....

HRT uses Springfield 1911s that are so tricked out that they do not even resemble a Springfield anymore. :D

This. The Range Officer is the absolute best bang for your buck 1911 out there. Mine is a tack driver right out of the box.

Springfield Armory loaded black or stainless. I've got the stainless version, I'm the 2nd owner, put maybe 50 rounds through it. Works great, almost too nice to shoot. But it is purty.

This is on my short list of 1911s for when (not if) I get another one.

+1 on the Range Officer...I use one for Service Pistol matches and made the Presidents Hundred with it last year at Camp Perry. Several of my team mates compete with RO's too. The ones I've seen/shot (at least 5 or 6) will put 10 shots in the 10 ring at 50 yards from a Ransom Rest & good ammo, and with a little lovin from a Bullseye smith they will put all 10 in the X ring. Great performance for the price point!

I'll echo what some have already said. Ruger SR1911 or SA Range Officer. IMO, they're the best you can get in your price range.

If you decide to stray from the 2 suggested the. First read any reviews of people who had to fix issues by purchasing different magazines. Cause if you can't use the mags that come with it, then what's the point? Just talked to a friend who has a Tauris and he had to buy better mags. My dad has yet to complain with his Ruger SR1911. As a matter of fact his Ruger mags solves an issue with my USGI 1911 was having with certain ammo. Good luck
