Best MD Legal .308 battle rifle

Think I mentioned this on a different thread....try a Ruger SR762 for sure, with the Nikon 308 scope (Nikon M-308 4-16x42mm Riflescope w/ BDC 800 Reticle).

That one kinda goes both ways.

The stock and forend are HK, while the rear sight and internals are CETME.

So is it MD legal? I'd love to add one to the stable one of these days if it is.

Sure is. Bought mine from Duffy's. I'm pretty sure they still have one.

I toy with this question every day. If I had to buy one battle rifle in .308 what would it be? I'm thinking about a Saiga...I don't know. I kick myself for selling my FAL

I had a 16" Saiga 308 and it was a great rifle. Sold it to get the Vepr, but I still miss it, even in stock form. Kinda wish I would have kept it and just found a wooden stock and forend so it looks just like an unassuming hunting rifle. The trigger wasn't great, but I was able to live with it. Fed everything I fed it.

One should NEVER feel regret about owning such a fine rifle, especially when it's the genuine article.

My next build, will be with a Mega upper and lower, Black Hole Weaponry KTB barrel and either a Timney, or an RRA match trigger. The guy I'm doing it for said $3000 limit. Should be one hell of a .308!

If you do go with an AR-10, make sure it is DPMS pattern. From what I have seen, there are a lot more accessories for the DPMS pattern rifles than the RRA LAR-8, Armalite AR10, etc... standards.

Good question, but Price maybe the deciding factor (for some people), the SCAR price is rising, 5 to 8 hundred bucks can be a deciding factor for addons, furniture, scope etc...

But I think its a matter of preference I guess...I tend to look at the Price, Ammo Caliber...Range and purpose...
