I'm not sure if my wife had been crippled by a maniac how I'd feel. She and Gifford are a lot different than Bloomberg. Their thoughts come out of pain not from someone's agenda. There will always be people who feel different than gun owners do. We need to be able to see the difference in their lives that got them there and treat them appropriately. Now you can give me a hard time.

A lunatic with a gun changed her life and the life of her husband forever. While we may not like her views on gun control, few of us have walked in her shoes.

If there is a heaven, I hope that James can walk and talk normally and they are happy for the rest of eternity.

    Hinkley can burn in hell.

    Correct on all points.

Agree on Brady, but not on Giffords.

Her circumstances didn't dampen their love of guns and shooting. Rather, it set them up as a sympathetic pair to be co-opted by the antigunners' agenda. The wrinkle is that Eager Young Space Cadet and his Pet Woman keep forcing their handlers to reboot.

Whatever her sins, it is not mine to judge. May you rest in peace Sarah.

I'll show her more respect in passing than she did to me in person.

Jim Brady was a fine, classy, witty, funny guy who may have taken a bullet meant for President Ronald Reagan. His life was ruined in that attack and so was the life of his wife. RIP, both of them.

    Well put.

She may be gone, but the campaign will live on. I have no doubt that her passing will be used as the rallying cry for the next push. Stay Vigilant!
That won't last long. It seemed to me that the Brady anti-gunners lost steam after Jim died, and without Sarah Brady there to lead it on, it's going to eventually die - it was her personal fight due to her personal loss, and it's rare that anyone takes up the mantle once the champion of a cause is gone.

Nonprofits rarely die. They may lose their effectiveness, but with so many board member and staff salaries to pay, they continue to leech bequests and pledged contributions for decades to come.
