"Parts kits" are, in my opinion, illegal. If you get all of the components for a "high capacity ammunition feeding device" in MD, that's no Bueno. Why would an FFL risk their license on a, as this thread says, $15-$50 transfer?

ETA: To put it plainer - is a $50 transfer worth 3+ years in prison for the customer getting a magazine?

I respect your opion and at the same time happy that its not the law :)

Or, you could transfer through High Rock up in PA, and get the mag!!! Of course the drive is a bit further. But hey, if you want the mag......

Bollingers is my favorite place to transfer, however you do lose the mag.

    where is Bollingers located?

cant a good FFL supply you with a free mag "parts kit" with your transfer?

Like I said before, grabagun will ship the mag separately to an out of state address(if you know someone). Unless they chafed their policy since I bought my 15-22 last year. So no need to worry about cheating the system with "parts kits"

Can someone find me a FFL in the Odenton area that will transfer this? K have called 3 so far and they all have had a different excuse to why they don't transfer it but offer me to have them order me one for 1200-1400

I honestly just wanted to use a FFL that they already had on file and avoid having to wait and rely on them to fax papers before they shipped. Neither of those were on file.

I went ahead and placed the order. They wouldn't ship the mag separate and since I have never done a transfer wit MSAR, I didnt want to risk them keeping it so they was cool enough to just take the mag out the box and discount the price for me.

I'm seriously glad I waited and didn't pull the trigger on buying one 2 years ago for 1400 when I REALLY wanted one.

Hope it all goes smoothly for you. Sucks about the mag, but at least they discounted it. They must have changed their policy.

    That kit has no receiver.

Yea the kit isn't $850 though, I was including the $130 lower and $20 transfer fee in it. Add another $20 for MD transfer and you still pay less and get a free float rail. That kit was $670 or so when in stock. The $850 was actually a high estimate.

No problem, they don't list prices on out of stock. Still a great deal for the M&P, you can just get a better gun for less money if you can deal with PSA slow shipping.

Wow I've been looking at one of these for a year or so also. If I can get it transferred to Bollinger's I can take it home the same day right? It would be a hike for me but worth it if I only had to go there once. Been meaning to check out their shop. Also would I have to call Bollinger's first to see if it's OK? I never bought a firearm online or have it transferred. Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure Bollinger is in their list of FFLs. Yep, in and out one day so long as you pass the nics check in the spot.

I always recommend contacting a shop first to ensure they'll accept the transfer and make sure you know the fee.
