I've read about the police practical... and I need clariffication on a few terms.

    1. For the 3, 5 & 7 yds calls out "point shoulder" for strong/weak/two handed shots. I assue that means to bring the firearm to shoulder height (propper sight picture) before engaging. Is tat correct?
    2. For the 15 and 25yds barricade shots... I assume only a portion of the torso will be exposed while 100% of the lower portion of your body is to be kept behind cover (i.e. IDPA rules). Is that correct?
    3. How close to the barricade you will need to be?

    Thanks for your feedback!

True *Point Shoulder* means shoulder level , and not sighted. 99% of instructors ( other than former LE instructors who taught mid '70s and earlier ) either don't know that , don't want to take the effort to enforce it , or delibertly decide that is poor technique , and avoid it on purpose.

Likewise instructor with LE/ Security Instructing background will expect only vague lip service to barricade use , probably would know what a IDPA standard was. Or IDPA .

Would be intellictualy interesting to see how an IDPA/ IPSC'er would interpetet a PPC course.

While we're on the subject of renewal...

Mrs. Safetech and I are up for renewal in the spring of 2015.

I assume that we will have to submit to BG checks again. But do we have to get fingerprinted again?

You have to go through everything again. You also have to take the 8 hour (2nd day) training course. You need to fill out the application and submit everything that was required the first time, including pictures and fingerprints. (Do they change?)

Better get started soon because they recommend submitting the application 90 business days before expiration.

Planning to do the training either in December or January, then submit apps.

    Permits expire in May.

I'm sooo happy to be in wisconsin! $12 renewal every 5 years, no photo, no prints, no additional training.

I really feel for you guys with all the BS they make you wade through. Keep up pressure on the pols to regain your rights.

I won't even tell you guys about a friend that had his CC in hand 5 days after mailing the application in. That would be too mean ;). Especially after they LOWERED the initial fee to $40.

This "Wisconsin" you speak of, I can only assume that it's in America.
