I got my renewal form in the mail the other day. This will be my first time renewing and I have questions.
The last question on the back page says to list hours of operation

"B. Hours of Operation and/or Availability of Business/Activity (Please provide at least one hour in which you can be contacted by ATF personnel.)"

Do I need to fill this part out? I'm thinking yes but am not sure. I don't want to submit this form incorrectly, knowing that Gov. bureaucrats hate empty spaces on forms.

#4 says I have to send a copy of the form front and back to my CLEO is this new? I sent them a letter when I first applied for the original FFL
The form was revised June 2014
Has anyone renewed lately that could provide some input?

    Thanks, Rick

I think I just put from 2:00-3:00 PM on Saturday. They want a time to contact you I believe. I was afraid if I left it blank it would cause a problem. I also sent a copy to the Sheriff, just like my original application. I got my renewal in less than a month.

I did not fill that out because I am not conducting a business I'm a random collector who probably will never use his C&R again hahaha.....unless I can find a nice old Ruger

Been there, done that more than once:
    - Hours of operation are N/A. You are a collector - not a dealer.
    - Your local CLEO must be copied on your renewal submission.

Thanks for the input folks. I'm going to walk on the wild side and leave a blank on a government form.

Precisely. Although I would send a cc to the local CLEO with the renewal going forward to the ATF.

Question on this (my renewal came this week).

What would happen to my bound book in the even I didn't renew? Retention rules (time) on that?

Just curious, was wondering if there are any advantages to NOT renewing, reapplying at a possible later date.......

    ?

The day after your license expires, you can dispose of the bound book however you wish. ATF is wise to people renewing shortly after the old license expires (to dispose of records) and those people are getting audited at high rates.

Throw the renewal in the trash and re-apply in a month. Start a fresh bound book for your new license, destroy the other one.

I can't imagine that I'll buy as many C&R guns on my second three year stint as I did on the first. My approach is to fully expect an audit and make sure my shit is together, but I'd rather be audited with a smaller BB. Just a personal preference.

    My stuff is 100%, but,.......

If there was no book to inspect, and, only a handful of C&R guns here, why not just start over.

I keep mine in order, in case of an audit I will be fine. However I don't expect one, if that makes sense.

I don't want a new bound book just because I'm cheap and don't want to buy another.
