Don't be a tease, more photos! Can't resist a nice Type III. Nice find! These are getting harder to find with original, good condition grips and finish.
Thank you for the photos. Nice to see original grips in excellent condition. Also appreciate the original finish. Hopefully it's got the correct two tone magazine with crimped base.
It's a keeper.
Shame on you, now you're motivated me to restart my search for a Type II.
Correct mag should also have the "round" feed lips... note that the info on Sam Lisker's website disagrees a bit with John Brunner's book as to when the crimped base was used. I'd go with Brunner though and agree it would be crimped.
The mag in the pistol looks like it might be a Triple K replacement with a long "tongue" but can't tell til we see it "unsheathed."
Beautiful Beautiful Gun! Yup I have one original mag works perfectly, one aftermarket which doesn't, and one aftermarket mag which so far seems OK. Just shelled out $150. for an original mag on eBay and if it feeds well I won't mind the cost a bit. Absolutely Adore this gun!
LOL - am new here and I just LoVe Colt 1903's so don't be surprised if you see me resurrecting more Robin
