UPS attempted to deliver mine but didn't since no one was home. I'm surprised, normally they just leave my C&R packages. My regular guy must be off today.

That would make me uneasy ... and get me onto the phone to Century.

What about markings ... is it an over-struck conversion? What date code letter is on it?

    I'm about to call.

Here's the markings. It doesn't look like an overstrike or grind down job. What do you think?

Arcamm - the date code and S/N check out to be 1945 Star B, not a converted A. It's been refinished for sure (looks like it was dipped or parkerized overall). Grips are also incorrect but that probably doesn't matter. The extractor pin looks like it's still there, but the extractor is missing in action so it didn't just fall out. Bummer. Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

My recent one looks like it was park'd. Arcamm's looks the same. Let us know what CAI's reaction is when you call, please.

I'll let you know as soon as I get through to them.

Normally, I'd be bouncing off the walls over this, but I'm only half disappointed.

    I bought two.

The second one doesn't seem to have the extra large loaded chamber window, but I'm OK with that. It's much the same as the first one otherwise.

Arcamm, your 2nd one is also 1945 and also falls into a S/N block of B's.
Numrich has the extractor in stock at $20 but not the spring. It may have to be fitted though.

Here's my $320 Star that just showed up today (different vendor though :)). Missing the lanyard ring which is unfortunate but no import marks other than the 50's "Made in Spain". FEDEX brought the little white boxes over the weekend. PBR is the only place I can find that makes new .38 ACP...

From a guy that didn't know what it was :)
(it's a "rarish" Model 1921, the only Star with a grip safety, something like 6000 or so made). He has a late Model A at the same price.

Eastern Branch Firearms. Nice guy, C$R friendly, had it shipped next day after auction. Typical pricing, some of his stuff is too high, some very reasonable, and most somewhere in between. Pay attention to condition though. Pics aren't always the greatest. Some interesting stuff, a Mauser 1910, Beretta 1934, etc.

I love seeing all these Star Bs...they are quickly becoming a favorite surplus shooter of mine. I lucked out and got this 1945 model B on GB the other week, won it for $220 (was during one of those big outages GB had). Trigger on it it arguably better than most of my modern guns. This one is an older CAI import.

Hopefully I'll get mine tomorrow, but the receipt says that the serial is 269931. Can anything be determined from that alone (year of make, etc.)?

Alphabrew, that's also a 1945 and in a block of S/N's for B's (not an A). Fingers crossed it comes with all it's pieces parts.

Maybe I missed it, but were these guns coming with a spare mag like we originally thought?
