Keepshooting is indeed a nice place. I guess I have stopped thinking of Waldorf as Southern Maryland.

Brian and Mario at Keep Shooting are good people. I have purchased numerous firearms and plenty of other things from them over the years. If they don't have what you are looking for, their transfer fees are reasonable enough to order it in.

    Ya gotta love Maryland

They've got a lot more room for guns now. The old "catch-all" room that had everything packed into it is now just for wine and liquor. They hadn't quite finished getting everything organized in the new addition the last time I was down there, but it gives them a lot more room to display stock.
Man, gas out front, liquor and beer, guns in back. Man Paradise, that's what that is.

Both Bob's and Cromwell's sell at discount. Last time I was in the Tackle Box I remarked their prices looked like MSRP, the guy behind the counter admitted that is how they set their prices. I have bought equally between Bob's and Cromwell's depending on what I was looking for and what they had in stock. Bob's gives an additional 5% military discount, and Cromwell's gives an additional 3% cash discount. I haven't tried negotiating for both discounts from both LGSs as lately I've been buying on line. Bob's is open 7 days a week, and Cromwell's is closed weekends and holidays, so factor that in before planning a visit. Both have web sites with their hours. But I highly recommend both.

Cromwells posted price is the cash price. They add 3% if paying with credit.

Bobs posted price is the credit price. They subtract 5% if paying with cash for anyone.

Mark at Target Acquired is a good local shop, not a IP though.
 My usual go to shop.

Recently bought a handgun from the Tackle Box and dealt with old man Capt Skup talked about and had no problems.

Had to do a transfer through Cromwell's since Mark at Accurate was on vacation or something when I stopped by. No problems there.

Even though he's an IP I won't go to Bob's

Find your best deal online, and ship it to All Pawn. We never got any extras with the transfers, but saved hundreds of dollars. Saved nearly $300 on one handgun.

Ditto. I've done extensive business with both. Great customer service, especially Kat at Bob's and Chuck at Cromwells - but Bob's definitely has the advantage in hours.

I've also had the same negative experience at the Tackle Box - very high prices and some idiots behind the counter.

I'm guessing that's for their out-of-state internet customers, not MD folks :) They also have a Bushmaster and other "banned" rifles, and an HBAR that specifically states "Maryland Legal"(out of stock, naturally).

A lotta folks do this. The only argument against this practice is that if everybody did it, we would have zero local gun stores.:sad20:

Kinda like folks griping about the high prices at local Mom & Pop stores and then griping that Walmart has driven all of the local retailers into bankruptcy -- while waiting in the checkout line at Walmart.

I generally accept paying a ~5% premium when shopping at local gun stores.

...Saved nearly $300 on one handgun.

Really? Yikes!:shocked3: I cannot argue with your practice if the local shop wanted a $300 premium.

Sometimes the local folks don't have what you're lookin' for though, so you have to look out of state.
