Will the next one make sure your widdle toes are on the grass?

I'd hate to have to listen to your gloating after you oust the next person that causes you to get a pebble in your shoe.

Aww how cute you take a incident (even as a regular citizen) that he choose to waddle from and think that is the only reason I don't like him

It is the one thing I have seen where you specified why you are so against him. Single issue voting, your single issue is he didn't treat you like you were special.

Hopefully we all can still keep our guns after your tantrum.

As a DINO I didn't have the honor of voting against him . As the vote tally shows the people of District 36 didn't want him . Him losing this seat means nothing in the big scheme of guns in MD whom ever is elected in November will be pro gun.

It means nothing? You must be oblivious to almost everything then.

Just like we were trying to send a message to those that voted in favor of SB281 by ousting them in the primaries, do you think that replacing the most 2nd Amendment friendly rep in the primary (i.e., Mike) might not make the rest of the General Assembly feel a lot more comfortable about passing additional gun restrictions. Hell, the 2nd Amendment backers in this state couldn't even keep their most supportive rep in office after SB281 got passed. What message do you think that sends?

Me, I honestly believe that the Courts are our only hope at this point and that is a crap shoot as far as I am concerned.

On this matter, as it applies to our 2nd Amendment Rights, I think you are oblivious to the ramifications.

Here's what we need to know:

Who's Andi gonna work for next session?
Whose office do we report to for preparation of the onslaught of new legislative battles?
Who is going to stand with us on the committee and floor to defend our 2nd amendment rights?

Mike will be sorely missed. What ever his perceived faults were, he was the most vocal defender of the 2A and we must never forget his epic stand against the Freedom Suppression Act of 2013.

No if that were true he would be staying in MD. He is not.

All is not lost with Mike gone, but the fight will need to be quieter. I myself will not be wasting valuable time "rallying" folks. Show up speak the truth, and go home.. the rest is court.

But we should still show up. Those who want to give up should do so, the rest of u will carry on.

The fight does NOT need to be quieter, it just will be quieter without Mike there. If nothing else, the fight needs to be louder and stronger, but I have no idea how the heck that is going to happen until they come knocking door to door to collect firearms and it might not even happen then with the sheep that are left here.

The person elected will be pro 2A so we didn't lose a vote against any bill that would further any Anti Gun Bill

But will that person be as vocal about all things 2A and constitutional as Mike?

We already know Jacobs and how he supports us (he does, but is reluctant to author bills that may be controversial).

Arantz has only been in office for a year and is still getting his feet under him. For his first session he more of a go along to get along person, we will see if that changes.

So, will Ghrist be as vocal as Mike has been? Will he buck the system and the party when needed? Will he reach across the aisle like Mike did to get stuff passed? He for sure won't be on Judiciary and he for sure won't be permitted in any back room dealings for committee like Mike.

i have lived in maryland my whole 50 years and mike was the most vocal constitution and 2a elected official i ever saw from this state. he will surely be missed. i believe the hole left by him not getting re elected will never get completely filled and we, the 2a community will miss him greatly.

Yep, you definitely do not get it. dblas summed it up pretty good. Just getting another person in office that will vote pro 2nd Amendment is not the same thing as somebody that will vote for it AND fight for it. Hell, we are all for the 2nd Amendment on this forum (trolls excluded), but some don't vote based on the 2nd Amendment stance of candidates and some don't fight as hard as others.

If you think that whoever replaces Mike will be just as good for the 2nd Amendment as Mike because he will also vote pro 2nd Amendment, than as I already said, you are oblivious, oblivious to what Mike has done for the 2nd Amendment and oblivious to how politics works.

I agree with you....but that is not what we were all being told during the SB281 hearings...we were all told to act like good little doo bee's.........especially when the state senators were doing little more than giving us ear service.....most had already had their minds made up.........and those that didn't either had their arms twisted or their palms greased at the last minute by MOM!!!

This crap again. Let's get the facts straight.

No one told you to be quiet little timid deer.

The message was to not act like ****ing idiots, coming in dressed up like rednecks from east bumble**** with confederate flags on and ranting and raving non-sensical dribble.

Why is that so hard to understand?

There is a difference between being heard and being an imbecile. Screaming at the top of your lungs in a hearing room is NOT the way to act. However, making sure every one of your reps knows your position, making sure everybody on the Judiciary Committee knows your position, and telling as many friends and family as possible what is going on is an effective way to be "loud". Screaming at legislators is only going to make things worse. I learned my lesson in court when I was 18. Getting bent out of shape and acting like a moron usually ensures you get treated like a moron.

I called, e-mailed, and wrote (snail mail) to each of my reps and to every person on the Judiciary Committees in both houses. Obviously, it didn't get through to them. However, that is my way of being "loud" and not "obnoxious", or so I hope. Maybe obnoxious is good.

    zackly!!

That is one of the main reasons we haven't gotten any further than we have, IMO. People insisting on their way and tugging the centipede's legs in 100 different directions, rather than working together to make any progress forward.

If people want an organization--ANY organization--to work for them, then they have 2 options. Join and contribute (and maybe gain some influence), or GTF out of the way and let them do their jobs.

We will make more "noise" as thousands of similar voices, than we will getting ignored as rogue idiots looking like we have no clue.

Well thats pretty much what I was gonna say so...I'll just say "THIS!!!"

    Okay, I lied...

Anyone can push the right button...but who's going to be our fighter on this issue. Who's going to be in the backroom with Joe and the liberals on JUD when it comes time to try to kill conservative bills?

And frankly, who's the Conservative fighter from Cecil now?
