Given the decision between a known (Simmons) and an unknown that worked on in the Brady house (Kegan), I would suggest Simmons.

And here is why, Lou has worked with the 2A community in the past, don't get me wrong, there is a lot we agree to disagree on, but Lou will sit down and listen and tell if he will work with you on an issue or not.

Just my opinion, from what I have observed and done as an individual, not an endorsement by from any position I may hold in any particular 2A organization (MSI).

I disagree. I think, all things being equal, we would be better off with fresh faces in Annapolis. Ones that don't already have friends or owe favors there. We want the ones with the least power and pull if we can't get an ally in.

Respectfully I have to disagree. Neither of these two is a good choice. Simmons gave the "Simmons Amendment" to the FSA 2013. People with PBJs for minor problems they had decades ago are going through hell trying to straighten out their lives because of this. Simmons was a cosponsor of FSA 2013 and seemed to be vigorously working to get it passed. He voted it out of committee and voted for it on the floor. We said we would not vote for people who voted for it. He has to go.

Kagan is not any better, but she was not in office to vote for FSA2013. She very likely would have.

That district will have no winners for us.

I still believe we need to pick an align our forces behind one, if for no other reason than to send the message that when they ignore 4 thousand constituents and pander to a control-loving few, they will return to civilian status.

We promised to vote out the bums. If those currently holding political seats are the ones who voted for SB281 or supported other restrictions on our 2A liberties, they need to go. If we fail, they will continue to ignore us, arguing that we have no teeth.

There is NO way such a person will get this constituent's vote.

We should all keep in mind that DiNO is 2-part...

Removing problem people in the primary, and ensuring that anyone who makes it through to the general is either friendly or beatable BY a friendly.

Agreed. And when given no palatable alternative, even removing one bum to replace him or her with another will serve as an MDS/MSI-induced term limit and hopefully a lesson learned.

Step one VOTE THE BUMS OUT! Step two if replaced by a new, although weaker, bum then work to ge a pro 2nd candidate to run in the next election and throw the new weaker bum out in favor of the pro 2nd candidate. It is impossible to get an all pro legislature in a single election cycle but first we have to get rid of those who voted for SB 281 because that will send a message and the new legislature with more junior representatives will be more likely to listen to the voice of the people.

We will need to fight this fight for many more years to undo the mess we are in but this is the time to take the first step and punish those who voted for SB 281.

I agree with this, and I think support should be put toward Kagan in this race. But keep in mind there are no republicans running in the district and whomever wins the primary is the elected official. That said, it is ripe for a write-in since it will be assumed the winner of the primary is the winner. This needs to be very organized and quiet to not tip the dems.

We should harbor no illusions whatsoever that any of this is unknown to them.

The "poll" hit that was put out by the von Frosh camp the other day showed they are well aware they have [organized] opposition.

We'll keep doing all we can for the primaries. Then, shyte gets real for the general.

    I'm aware my friend.

I only hope we help them to lose some sleep at the very least.:)

I am bummed. I did not register as a Democrat. I really thought Frosh would win and it would not matter. Cardin is definitely the right choice so he can be smashed in the general.

You can still change your party affiliation! You will be voting with a "provisional ballot" but it is not too late to exercise your DINO - might!

Walk in to the primary voting station and tell them you have decided to vote Democrat. They will give you a provisional ballot, as explained by dogbone. Too easy.

Yep, and I would say to do that. Its not over on AG yet. Frosh picked up endorsements from o'malley and the baltimore sun recently. TV ads will probably be picking up in these final days before the primary, and they will sway undecided votes

Also a reminder: you can affect races by more than just your vote. Send contributions to the candidates you want to win. Cardin's site is here: http://www.joncardin.com/

It was simply my opinion, and if I am wrong then I am wrong. I make no excuses when I am, and all of you have made good points on how we as DINOs would go about this years elections.

Please know, I was neither scolding nor correcting, just tossing in my 2 cents as well. One team, one fight.
