  • The racoons that eat my corn are so fat that they look like engorged ticks. I'm surprised they can walk. I shot two at night, patterning them from the trail cam pics. I only had to wait 30 minutes for them to emerge. I have many more, but it too damn cold sitting in the deer stand at that hour.

The pair I have every night are there by 18:22 and stay a good 2 hours at a time. Not sure whee they're at during the day.... in a tree, hollow, hole in the ground........... who knows?

Maybe I should wait them out

Place a lawn sprinkler in an area that the raccoons frequent. They will teach themselves to play music on it, then you can shoot them while they're distracted.

Scratched onto a piece of slate and carried by specially trained prehistoric birds.

Duke leg hold traps (soup can traps). Coon sticks his hand in the get food but won't let go of food to get hand out. Best type of traps for not catching other stuff.

The traps I use will kill anything that sticks it's head in it. To many cases of rabies here :(

Has the drooling froth stopped yet? It's a bitch getting that shit outta my carpet, from now on stay at the front door when you buy ammo and assorted goodies! :mad54:

Outside of hunting them at Oh dark thirty a good way of spooking them? No, no poison or anything like that.... they're eating the hell out of my corn! :mad54:

I got a lot of success using the have a heart box traps. I just throw dry cat food in em, wake up the next morning and there he is. I caught 4 in one week once.

Then I release them into socialist yuppie neighborhoods. :innocent0:

JK- I release them on a back of a farm of someone I know that borders a state forest.

We use a have a heart trap baited with whatever rotting food scraps we can pull out of the trash. Usually get one every time we put it out. Last summer they were literally damaging vehicles and wreaking havoc at my girlfriends house. A few bullets later, no problems. This year we see them but theyre not causing problems.

Are there any laws against feeding them?
I just found out that my Neighbor is going through 20lbs of dog food a week feeding the 7-8 that are behind our houses.
I have tried the nice, "you should not be doing that", but I think the next step is required.

No we do not live in place I can shoot them safely.
