Since you guys are East Coast dudes I don't know how much you know about Chris Donner.

He was the ex-cop/sailor that decided to take on LAPD last year. It was amazing how much damage he did. The police literally quite enforcing laws other than violent felonies that were in the process of being committed. The sheer manpower that was sent after one guy willing to die sort of made you wonder if that had been 50 guys all acting in tandem up and down California what would have happened.
Talking about an "armed revolution" is nonsense from Budweiser bad-asses.
Budweiser bad-asses who I'm pretty sure don't stop to consider that the foot soldiers they'll actually be aiming at won't be some big bad wolf, but everyday Americans - 19-yr old kids, or reservist dads who have kids waiting at home, or maybe even the guy who lives down the street - who are in whatever branch of service that's responding.
You really ready to shoot 'em?

2% of the population died in the last one. I am not yet prepared to lose another 7,000,000 Americans.
This is exactly the scenario that comes to my mind.
First, I am not calling for a revolution and I do not wish violence upon anyone. This is a purely cerebral exercise.
To those who imagine any successful revolution would look like Vietnam or WWII, it wouldn't. The gov is very good at fighting that kind of war. Also, the prepper in the hills in his bunker is toast as well for the same reason.
But, a small number of loosely coordinated people who were willing to fight very dirty and were ready to do things that most civilized people would abhor could make a very noticeable difference in gov policy.
One guy who, seemingly out of nowhere, took out say a Representative then disappeared into the population might be hard to find. Then if other soft political targets (and their families even) started dropping by other lone wolvesin much the same fashion, that alone could cause an immense uproar.
I am not that guy and again do not suggest such repulsive actions, but for one to simply say it isn't possible is naive.
CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG.........
It could be argue that we have three of four of those conditions now.. . . where the government (1) refuses to stand for re-election and (2) silences those who protest; where (3) courts have lost the courage to oppose, or (4) can find no one to enforce their decrees.
I think that we're not considering that the demographic who will probably 'revolt' sooner will be those whose 'entitlements' are suddenly curtailed. All you need to consider is the Occupy movement, and its' anarchist underpinnings. Then, look around at the 'flash mobs' emptying WalMart, and 'knock out' games being practiced on innocent victims.
I think that the SHTF 'revolt' will come sooner than a constitutional one.

It's funny that quote about pornography is the same the MSP gave when asked to define "good and substantial"...given that md gun owners are being boned in the A by that response. Hey! It IS like pornography.
I agree. With the number of people who support liberty dwindling, only guerrilla action would have any positive effect.
During a congressional committee hearing about the constitutional limits imposed on the presidency and the implications of President Barack Obama’s disregard for implementing the Affordable Care Act as written, one expert testified that the consequences of the president’s behavior were potentially grave. He said that the precedent set by Obama could eventually lead to an armed revolt against the federal government.
“That is certainly something that no one wants to contemplate,” he continued. “If the people come to believe that the government is no longer constrained by the laws then they will conclude that neither are they.”
“That is a very dangerous sort of thing for the president to do, to wantonly ignore the laws,” Cannon concluded, “to try to impose obligation upon people that the legislature did not approve.”
It's like pornography.
