    Glen Burnie
Did the second Mutiny open up yet?
    Columbia/Ellicott City area I think?

I went down to Glen Burnie for some business with them and the sauce smelled so good I could barely concentrate. They could've paid me in food.

I heard they wanted to open up another restaurant, but I didn't know it was supposed to be another Mutiny. Last I heard, they had found a building that they were going to use, but I haven't heard anything in a while, so I don't know what happened with it. The one that I heard about may have been a new venture, the new Mutiny might have been a separate thing. I know they have two Iron Bridges, so it make sense that they would open another Mutiny.

I love the food at Mutiny and Iron Bridge, I'm just glad they aren't closer to me, otherwise I would be tempted to just hang out at one or the other every night.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes Mutiny. The food is definitely worth it - they have a chef who is doing some very cool things with the menu and offering some things that you wouldn't expect in a bar just off the water in Glen Burnie. That's what I meant when I said that the food was unique and upscale - it's definitely not your standard pub fare of burgers, fish and fries, although you can get some of that too.

    Blue POint Crab House
Some of my favorite non chain restaurants
Have you ever been to Linwoods? If not i highly suggest you check it out, amazing food and nice place. Always an excellent mask IMO. try the onion soup too and if the carpet bagger steak is available it's fantastic.
    cinghiale is amazing
    Tio pepes
    Pazos

Unfortunately Baltimore doesn't really have great steakhouses.
Prime rib is good, but a chain. Sullivans can be great and can be just alright. Same with Flemings. Wasn't impressed with capital grill, Ruth Chris or mortons.

One of the better steaks i had lately came from Catonsville gourmet surprisingly (king cut rib eye and it was amazing) not as nice a place as above mentioned but the food was good.

I want to try Woodbury kitchen again but the first time we had an awful meal there.

The Woodberry Kitchen is a great restaurant. It's pricey but I think it's worth it. Plus, you're paying for local ingredients. The desserts are phenonemal. You may scoff at the idea of basilice cream but pair it with some blueberry pie and

Abbey Burger is a pub so little less "date nighty" but have some of the largest obscure game animal and beer selections I have seen in the area. They also have tasty adult milkshakes. Plus, their chips are homemade.

    Good luck!

Edit: Both are located in Baltimore.

This place is incredible, albeit pricey. Everything on the menu was raised/grown/made within 100 miles of the Chesapeake. Single location and locally owned.
    You WILL be impressed.

Try their halibut special when they have it.

Wifey tried to make reservations there last night (if I'm thinking of the right place) and they're already booked up for almost the entire weekend. That's one thing that sucks about having an anniversary right after Thanksgiving.

Yea, their food is definitely not what you would expect from a bar. The executive chef there has been my friend since we were in middle school.

I took my wife to Grill620 west of Ellicott City for her birthday and was very impressed with the service and food.

Is that one of the new restaurants in the shopping center that has Harris Teeter in it?

To the OP, my wife and I went to The Melting Pot in Columbia for our 8th anniversary this summer. It is a chain, but it was the first time either of us had been there. Simply put, it was one of the better restaurant dinners we have had in a long time, but it was also expensive. Easily over $100 and she only had one alcoholic beverage and I was driving. Now, we are looking for a way to make our own fondue and broth for meats. I am getting hungry just thinking about it. The service was also spectacular.

    +1
We were there a couple weeks ago and will probably go again in a couple weeks for our anniversary. Food was amazing - steak, oysters, sausages, and everything else. Ambience was really cool and service was great.

DEFINITELY make reservations. I called Saturday morning and they had nothing until 9 or 10. We risked it and went earlier, lucked out and got a high top in the bar area after waiting just a minute.

    Yes.
    Raw bar
    Nice gluten free menu
    Mostly local meat and seafood.
Better steak than last couple trips to Ruth Chris.
And best of all Tito's vodka.

My wife and I like Baldwin's Station too.

Someone already mentioned Tersiguel's in Ellicott City. We used to go there regularly years ago, when my parents were still with us. A great place, and they had the most delicious bread I've ever had. It's actually Breton French.

I can't think of the Iron Bridge Wine Company without laughing. I remember when that place was a nasty little redneck roadhouse, a real dump. My Grandfather always called it, "that cocktail lounge", with sneering sarcasm. A friend told me he stopped there for a pack of cigarettes once, and some crazy woman came in waving a knife and threatening to kill her man. And now it's a Yuppie "Bistro." I'll bet they have lots of "balsamic vinaigrettes".

Elkridge Furnace Inn is very quaint and good food (and $$$$)

    .

This, the head chef Dan is an awesome guy, great flavors and a wide range of foods, I have had snails, scallops and oysters up to quail, boar and prime rib there.

Also, my mom runs a farm that supplies a bunch of veggies for him.

I don't get it. Everything my wife and I got fell flat on its face and was so BLAH that I would have felt bad paying $50 let alone $150.

Lots of good stuff here. Didn't see Ouzo Bay. The food is very good; baked whole branzino was great.
