Reading all this reminded me of a quote found on a web article quoting a Canadian gun-grabing advocate back in the 1990's saying that while you have a legal right to a firearm they (the gun-grabbers) want to make the process to get it as arduous and onerous as legally possible.

I made until 10 before I had enough. Actually, had enough earlier but was hoping for some relief. MOM gave them their marching orders. How can we have common sense laws where there is none

Listen bottom line is Ive said it from the beginning our system is broke... and for all of you who keep saying we don't have the majority here in MD your IDIOTS..........and the system is broke wake up.

First off you are right that the system is broke. Perhaps irreparably so.

However, I been in this fight a looooong time to. Decades, not months or years. While I hear what you're saying in regard to being the majority, technically you are right. Practically however, you are wrong. Yes we have MORE PEOPLE. We even have MORE VOTERS. Ours however typically don't vote at all or sometimes vote for an anti 2A candidate based on some other factor. Usually financially motivated. :mad54: The anits have MORE VOTES! More people, either those who drink the Kool Aide or those who are dependent on government handouts who dutifully vote for their socialist candidates.

If you can figure out how to get our people out and voting - in the districts that count - I'm behind you all the way. Otherwise, we (gunowners in general not those who've been busting their butts on this) are our own worst enemy.

Mods and others, I apologize for the hijack...:o

Well said, although I will not sit and wait for the "we" to try and make a change. I will invest, engage and fight to make 2014 the year of change regardless of the masses. With almost 120 hrs in over the last 90 days, it's personal now.. :D

I need to to be clear on the grandfathering. my understanding going in to last night was that evil guns purchased before 10/1 did not need to be re-registered as assault weapons. so if i buy an ak or and ar now, all i do is wait three months for msp to approve and it's all done. that sound right?

Actually that is an interesting point. Is ownership viewed as when you start the paperwork, or when you take possession? If you go out and buy a soon to be banned weapon in August and it takes 9 weeks for the paperwork to go through, what does that mean?

    Sigh.

and Dumias lied about that when she was asked.
she tap-danced around the question for awhile, then lied.

All of the anti's lied. That's what they do and people still keep putting them in office to lead. They are not leaders, they are to follow their constituents, not lead. I saw pics of delegates reading the paper, playing on the internet etc.

Are they going to publish the individual votes for the amendments and 2nd reading?

I want to match what my delegates say they were going to do and what they actually did.

As long as you do paper work (4473 & 77r) BY Oct,1st your fine. Even though you wont take possession of the assault gun until MSP clears you. As I been understanding it.

According to Dumais, it's when you start the paperwork (4473 / 77r) that shows that you have a "purchase order". However, the language of the bill simply says "Purchase Order" - not a full blown, i'm paid off and gun-in-hand.

If you've got a legal "Promise to Pay" note, which is what almost all businesses consider a Purchase Order to be, I think you would have some pretty substantial legs to stand on. Take this with the whole "I'm not a Lawyer" pill though.
