    An email I received today:

A silent march is being organized on campus this evening at 7:15 PM (after the Cornell West talk) to bring attention to the need for real solutions to end gun violence. The idea for this emerged out of a discussion last night organized by the Theta Theta Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity at which Dr. Stephen B. Thomas (Center for Health Equity) spoke. It is being sponsored by the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, the Center for Health Equity, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

Please share the event details on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/123328174514067/ with your students and faculty.

    Thanks,

    Kelly

    Ugh.

If memory serves from my days in that hell-hole (Got my BS and MS and then got the hell out), this march will be marked with some kid smelling strongly of weed saying that if we make guns illegal then the bad guys won't be able to get them. (Oh the irony.)

Normally I'd be down for a road-trip back to CP, but I'm occupied this evening.

I'm sitting in class right now, but I doubt I'd waste my time to go even if I was free. I lost brain cells discussing to no avail with others in my age bracket about the 2A, being told that it's an outdated concept and we don't need it in it's current form. Ironically I'm sitting in a law class now. Prof asked a true/false to the class: The Constitution is the true and unwavering law of the land. I ended up saying "not anymore" before I even had a chance to think about what I said...

Fraternities are so gay. We should do a silent march to end frats. They are an excuse for "straight" guys to do extremely gay thing under the guide of "drunken college humor".

The youth are not the only one's that have been brain washed into thinking this. I spoke to gun collecting hunter buddy of mine and he said the same thing. I told him I was very sorry to hear that. :sad20:

Is that a real law school ? I mean there are no true false questions in the law and he/she/it should know that.. :)

I wish someone would rent a billboard and show videos of all of the "College" students rioting during their football and basketball victories over the years during the silent march.

I laugh only because of the Monty Python Tribute, but I am saddened by the fact that we as a society are in such a position.

    Freedom is my Birthright.
    I shall not yield it.
I will make my fellow citizens claim their Birthright of Freedom.
    This I swear.

Satire is the tool that makes them see. Then you hit them with the truth.

And this is how we WILL win.

Every Generation thinks it has seen the end of the world. Mine has seen it three times. This is how I know that We WILL win. I do not know the cost of victory.
I do know the cost of defeat.

Don't worry guys, not everyone at the UMD is brain dead. We have plenty of gun owners and shooters here. In fact, on Sunday we (Rifle & Pistol Club) are having our own effort to curb gun deaths by going to the range and teaching gun safety.

Haha, look at the turnout (4 going, two maybe, 20 invited).

I would go, except UMD Spring admitted me and as a result I go to Salisbury. It's alright though, everyone here is either pro-gun, indifferent, or silent on the matter, and my gun club is ten minutes from my apartment.
