Got a nice letter in the mail today, envelope marked with a "Final Notice" and in red "PAST DUE" like I'm some deadbeat that doesn't pay his bills and the opening sentence on the letter was "Our Second Amendment rights are in grave danger because some NRA supporters like you have not renewed your memberships."

    You disgust me!

My 2nd Ammendment support money will go elsewhere. I recommend others do the same.

Look this is ********, im sick and tired of people on this thread bashing the NRA. without them you would have lost your guns and your rights long ago. it seems to be trendy to pick on them right now BUT the second Rep McCarthy-D (NY) introduces the new AWB this session we will need them. they have real politcal power, the GOA is a joke no one takes seriously. without the NRA it would be like showing up to war with no gun. join, renew send money etc. i know they can be a pain in the ass but they are the 2nd amendment rights super power. these other organizations help to a point but they cant ever hope to have the influence the NRA does.

You have to decide if you're getting your money's worth. The NRA is a for profit business, and when you "join" you're agreeing that they'll provide you with goods or services for the agreed upon price.

I hate getting late notices for my BGE bill, credit card or mortgage, but I made an agreement with them and when I don't honor it they have a right to get pissy with me.

A few years back the NRA sent me a video "10 guns that changed the world" with a letter asking me to buy it even though I didn't order it. It was basically a guilt trip if I didn't send money. I was pissed that the NRA resorted to such scams. I got even by keeping the video and not paying for it. I find it ironic that the NRA tells us that certain elected officials are out to get as they pull these tricks.

I got the same video from them. The law says that you are not obligated to pay for merchandise sent to you unrequested. So I didn't send any money, but knowing the law, and knowing that they know the law, I didn't feel even a little guilty.

I have to agree with aquaman, though, that even though they can get VERY irritating, we really need the clout the NRA brings. Especially now. Divided we fall, but by standing together, we have a chance of stopping the stripping of our Second Amendment rights.

I hear you. I am still a member but dues is all they get from me.

But if the Government takes all my guns at least I'll find solace in the fact that I won't receive any more deceptive advertising. At least from the NRA.

Where's those "Hurt Feelings" report forms?

A number of years ago, I talked to 'someone' in the NRA HQ and told them that I was not pleased with their support of my firearm rights and was on the fence about continuing my support. I didn't get a really good response but did continue my membership. I am now on the life payment plan, even through I think the NRA is a business (just like the Brady brunch). They are, really, the only 800 lb guy we have for us, even if we don't like everything that they do. I also support several other groups that I feel do a better job supporting us but don't have the push. The next few years will be interesting to say the least. I suggest that you consider at least a minimum support to the NRA to madd to their membership numbers.

I was a member of the Nra for 10 years and dont get me wrong i appreciate what they have done and what they continue to do but i dont like getting junk mail every week with another scary sob story or a rumor that they need my money for. They use scare tactics and guilt to get donations just like the feed the children people or the environazis. When you join a organization and pay dues you dont expect to be constantly solicited, junk mailed, called at home twice a week and made to feel like a jerk if you wont pony up 75$ for someones legal defence. If they changed how they operate i would rejoin but until then i will save money for ammo.

maybe they feel desperate times call for desperate measures....
still its ******** to use scare tactics, #1 reason for all this no-supply and lots of demand with guns & ammo right now.

I wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat wondering if there's going to be more guilt-trip mail from the NRA in my mailbox tomorrow. I'll be glad when the government comes and takes my firearms so I can get some sleep.

As much as I hate the fact that they spend money on ******** mail I will be renewing my membership today to "Celebrate" the Coronation.

Support whatever pro 2a group you want but show your support and send money.....and lots of it.

I for one stocked up on stamps, ink for the printer and envelopes this weekend and am prepared to do a lot of writing to the morons in DC

:omg: Doomed to getting junk mail! What will you do with it? It will just show up and remain with you forever like some antibiotic-resistant STD. Now they're going to play minds games with you man and "guilt trip" you.
