    1. All firearms are always loaded.
    2. Never let your muzzle cover something you aren't willing to destroy.
    3. Know your target and what's beyond it.
    4. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot.

Oy..., feel bad for anyone that was in the room when it happened, that'll stay with you.

Just another reason to follow the basic rules, and to keep live ammo away from the weapon when demonstrating.

Unfortunately all it takes in a split second of carelessness.
    Safety first always.
Even if you think you're sure, double check! Triple check!
Who cares if you look funny checking your gun multiple times, better safe than sorry.

“He removed the gun from the holster, removed the magazine and cleared the round from the chamber. After showing them the gun he replaced the magazine, and must have released the slide chambering another round

And there would be nothing wrong with that, if he intended to reload the gun, which if it was his EDC, I'm sure he meant to do that.

The gun then fired as the victim was waving it around his head.”

THAT is the real problem here.....safe direction rule, folks....

That, and KEEP YOUR BOOGER PICKING FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Nothing like a hot pressure wash to clean things out. At least it wasn't brains. Funny how these things keep happening with Glock's though.

Glocks are at a price point where most people who want a firearm can buy one, they have a great reputation as being reliable, and they are just plain good weapons. Its the law of numbers, more glocks out there= a greater chance of something happening involving them as it would with a type of vehicle.

Same reason Kimbers get more complaints. Sheer numbers in most cases. I have had 3 Glocks for years. I have not shot myself.

Maybe this guy was showing off and got careless.

    Sad
