Hard to beat Perry hall or Nottingham...... Close to Freestate and crime is minimal..... Sucks about the 95 commute thingy though :o

Yea I am not doing the 95 thing. Plus I have a AGC membership so being near the range is a huge plus.

no price is right to get me to live there. I am trying to avoid the commute down 95 with extreme prejudice.

The commute from any of those areas you listed to Fed Hill is going to be pretty painful as well i'm afraid. I did the Reisterstown to Fed Hill commute for a bit and hated it. The west side of the Beltway is to be avoided at all costs! And from Sykesville/Marriotsville, I wouldn't want to have to hit that 70/695 ramp in the AM.

Currently do the Reisterstown to Columbia commute, hoping to move to Ellicott City, Marriotsville, or Sykesville in the near future myself.

i worked with someone who did Sykesville to Inner Harbor and she said it was fine if you left early. I generally work 730 - 600 or later so i think i can miss some of the worst traffic.

Actually I'm looking into moving to Parkville, or maybe out to the Columbia area. It depends on the job but I'm almost done with city living. I have even toyed with the idea of buying land up near APG and having my own little outdoor range (not commercial, just for me and my friends).

Canton is fun but quite frankly, I'm sick of living next to dumbasses on all sides of me.

Depends on the time you leave for work. I commute from Reisterstown to Pigtown and its not bad at all. On the other hand, I'm also on the road by 0500. FWIW, my fiance usually leaves by 0600 in order to make it to UMMC by 0700. In addition, I was born and raised in Canton, and worked on the square for a bunch of years. I know your pain.

Compared to living in the city, Reisterstown is a step up, but I don't know about starting roots here. Its still too close to Baltimore for my comfort. But, having grown up in Baltimore, and now working for the city, I cant be far enough away when I'm off.

areas that do not have the metro, bus lines, light rail or mall shopping are usually good to go. that, and being outside the beltway helps too.

I'm sure ill get a lot of flak, but I like the Essex/Middlesex area. I have a nice house with about an acre, decent schools, the gun shop and freestate are minutes away. And bmore city is right down Pulaski highway, no need for beltway or 95
