I might get the Troy for my next build just for S&G. I have the B.A.D lever right now.
They are both about the same price.

I run one on two carbines and find them very useful when doing type type 3 malfunctions or on an emergency reload. They are a bit difficult to get used to as far as the mechanics go. When you are used to doing it one way for over 25 years it is difficult to learn a new way, but not impossible.

The speed increase alone is worth installing one and learning how to use it imho.

Just another  for them - I have 2 Magpuls. I've read about folks poo-pooing them, generally suggesting that if you take a tactical class you'll figure out real quick that they'll 1) get in the way and 2) malfunction. That may very well be true, but I'm a fan of them for the range.

How many guys are running them in actual compititions I don't see many out at the 3 gun matches I attended but I not looking hard either. I so used to doing it one way not sure if I can make the switch. Like to see what those think who compete with them on thier riffles?

I have had a Phase 5 EBR V2 for a few years. It is superior to the Magpul BAD in every way except ease of instalation/ removal. Mine looks a little different. The new one looks like it does not cover the hammer pin. Not sure if that's an improvement.

The BAD lever it replaced is in a box somewhere. PM if you still want one.

Running an AR without one of these trigger finger operated bolt catches feels slow and clumsy now. Highly recommend trying one.

I have the Troy and the BAD.

I hate running rifles without them. They just make manipulation so much smother and instinctual.

The Troy feels looser than the BAD but they both work well.

I just got one for my AR, and my only problem is my long fingers catch it sometimes when moving my finger to the trigger. I'll probably get used to it, but other than that I love the optimization it allows.

Same here. Because of this, I not sure if it is going to stay on my AR. Otherwise it's great.

I do! Mag changes are faster with them, malfunction fixes, too.

I happen to run one on the carbine that I use in 3-gun, but that's kind of irrelevant. If you find yourself in a situation where a BAD lever will help (bolt open on an empty mag, double feed) you're already out of the running for the competition.

Now for tactical use, or just to make locking the bolt back easier, they are a must-have in my book.

I have one on each of my AR's because I'm left handed, it allows me to hit the mag button, feed a new mag, and drop the bolt all with my right hand leaving the rifle shouldered and shooting finger at the ready. Like mine for those reasons, not sure what right handed guys use them for but right handed people never did anything that made sense anyway.
I have them on my ARs. I tried another brand also, but the Maugpul is better. I too am lefty and use them as Jackson does. Righties would likely use their trigger fingers to drop the bolt. I believe that is the design intent.

I have one on my AR, it's taking a little to get used to but I'd love to throw one on my service rifle whenever I get used to it some more.

    Update

Just put one of these on my BCM 16" and the first thing I thought after installation was:

"WHY HAVE I NOT USED ONE BEFORE?"

These things are amazing. Why don't they come standard on all ARs?
