It sure would be nice if the hunters on the forum got together and threw a Venison bbq for the moderators of MdShooters......:innocent0

side topic: A buddy of mine soaks his deer meat in milk to remove the gamey taste....does anybody else do that?

If you cool the meat as fast as possible and trim all the fat there is no "gamey taste" to deal with.
I do soak pieces of venison overnight in buttermilk to marinate and soften the meat and then batter it and fry it up. The buttermilk gets all gooey and somewhat congealed and the breading just sticks to it. Can also be used with chicken, rattlesnake, and catfish.
    Very yummy.

Just send a PM so I can make sure I have something on tap for you. We can also head up to Thurmont and send some rounds downrange.
