Since the OP says he doesn't know a ton about these machines I'll chime in...
We've had a 1710 my whole life. Dependable, simple machines. Japanese manufactured for Ford.
Many parts are still available but some are not. We recently had to replace the bucket control valve and had to design new mounting etc and installed an aftermarket retrofit.
Do you have any attachments to sell seperate? Half assedly looking for a set of forks
