I have had my Yong Heng compressor for a few years and it continues to satisfy my needs. One mod I added this year was a truxting water separator to replace the smaller jury rig I made when I bought the compressor. This works better than my jury rig with the only penalty being that fillups take longer since you have to fill the separator first.

The only maintenance I have done is change the oil and this year I changed the type of oil I am using. I went from Royal Purple to Seco Lube 500. I changed based on experience from other owners as well as some dive shops in Florida. I bought the oil from Lawrence Factor Inc. in Miami. They have a web site you can order from as well. This oil is used by dive shops in breathing air compressors and has a higher temp limit than Royal Purple and some of the other Diester type fluids. I have noticed a few degrees lower temp when running my unit with this oil.

While I did not record my fill times before I made the mods to the compressor, I am recording them now. It takes 7 minutes for me to bring my 77CF tank from 3500 to 4300 PSI. I plan to use that as a measure for when to rebuild the second stage piston assy.

Well, back to air rifle shooting. :D

Oh heck! In MD? What storm is it?? Not to derail or anything. We’ve been getting some stiff wind down here in Charleston. Hope to shoot the flames off some candles in the near future!

Tropical Storm Opheila. Forecasting 1-3 foot tidal surge, but I was up several times thru the night and the tide is still not even close to getting high.

Oh! I didn’t know that one was slated to hit y’all. I was on the beach (Folly Beach, SC.) last night with the dogs and it was pretty windy for this time of year!

Once things settle down I too would like to see your water/filter setup. Thanks in advance!

    Can do.

Right now, whenever the wind blows, the lights are flickering. I have the generator on standby for when the power takes a dump.

This past December we escaped over the wall and got ourselves to America: South Carolina. Hurricanes are not a joke down here and tropical storms seem to be more frequent. The cost of freedom. Sounds like you're suitably prepared.

Heck yeah! Know a couple not far from ya in Marion. Old coworker moved to Florence a couple years back as well.

It’s becoming Airgun season down here again. Not so blasted hot like it gets. Entering into our niiiiiiice weather season.

The water peaked about 5:30 this morning. One neighbor 3 houses up has pier under water.

UPDATE. For those who wanted to see what PCP guns I am shooting and my air compressor set up, see attached.

On the intake side of the Yong Heng compressor is a homemade desiccant filter. This is a holdover from my original setup that I decided to keep even when I added the gold Truxing water separator. IMHO, you can't get your air dry enough.

On the outflow side of the compressor, I have the black oil filter, then the Truxing water separator and then the small gold desiccant filter (left over from old setup). Additionally, I bored out the original water jacket holes and added larger water lines and a larger pump. My compressor temp stabilizes at 125F.

As for the PCP airguns I am currently shooting. One is a .25 Air Venturi Avenger, second is a 22 cal Marauder Pistol, and the third is a ..25 cal Air Force TalonP. None of these is in stock configuration nor do they perform like stock guns.
