US Wind program is offering each coastal town $2 million, paid $100,000 per year for 20 years.

The first payment to each town would come when construction begins. The second when the company begins delivering energy to the grid.

Each town would get $100,000 on the anniversary of that date for another 18 years.

In exchange, towns must agree to not take any action to deter or delay the project. Town and city officials could opt out at anytime, but they would have to return two years of payments.

Wind farms are going broke; it sounds like a scam to me.

Yeah, this is BS. I attended the Bethany Beach Town meeting on the issue. Had an expert from US Wind (the briber). His facts were questionable. Seems like the residents are totally against. Some on the town council were for taking the money. One of the council members asked about his upbringing. The US Wind guy said the was raised in the area and his family bought a place in Rehoboth which became a place of healing for the family. What a crock of shite.

Put the entire amount in a trust, up front, so their bankruptcy filing won't screw the foolish folks who took the deal.

People are getting wise to the wind farms. They put 50 windmills in the area I've hunted for 50 plus years in PA. They promised all kinds of benefits, all lies. No local jobs, the workers were from out of state, the windmills were made in China. They dug deep holes for the foundations and ruined our clean water springs that ran for centuries. They cleared the woods and trails around the windmills and some of the best hunting spots and widened the roads and turns to 100 feet to get the things in. Then they put up gates and patrolled the area, closed access to the recreation areas, the hunting and fishing. Then the game commission put safety zones around each windmill, that's 150 yard radius, 300 yard circle times 50. They put a windmill on the hill directly behind our shooting range back stop.

And the worse thing for DE is that US Wind needs to bring the power lines in to DE because, they say, there is no viable place to bring the power in directly to MD. So they are going to trench in massive power cables under the Indian River.

Hey! If you don't allow wind farms then the ChiComs don't get orders and The Big Guy doesn't get his 10%!

Pay your fair share. Pay your fair share.
