I have a Mini-14 and I just mated to an Archangel Sparta stock and now I need new sights. It's got a full-length rail so I can mount just about anything. I't's not really a long range gun so I don't want to scope it. Looking around at the options I'm a little bit overwhelmed by the options for sights. I'm not sure if I should go with open, flip-up, red dot, short-range scope or what. Could anyone offer me some guidance on which way to go?

    Thanks!

I like the Burris 1-4x I put on my AR.

1x is fast and similar to a red dot. 4x will allow you to reach out to several hundred yards.

I have the MTAC, but the TAC30 is about $100 less, and very similar.

I got mine from Sport Optics, good price, GREAT people to deal with.

If the funds are higher, I would go to the Vortex Viper PST 1-4x, then the Vortex Razor. Then you get into a some serious money. :)

All that said, my Mini 14s have always been iron sighted.
