Man places dont want to pay IT jack anymore. Good luck finding someone but that salary seems a little on the low side.

You don't have to tell me that lol, I've been here going on 13 years. that being said, the benefits are good and we offer tuition assistance for staff and their dependents. room to grow w/ the company.

Same way they pay their doctors: piss poor. Gotta save all the money for the nurse president to buy new pink bow ties and keep him flush with scalp wax so he shines.

Sadly most places dont anymore. Oddly MSP's seem to pay the best. I did pretty good at the government too while I was there.

Benefits can make up for alot though. Especially if you have kids.

My best gig in IT was as vCIO at an MSP, really enjoyed getting to setup projects, consult on a variety of infrastructure and industries and then hand it off to someone else to implement/babysit.

Kept things from getting stale and got experience with systems and compliance in Healthcare, Finance, Non Profit, Manufacturing etc.

    Good luck filling this one

I have been enjoying MSP work too. My last project has been by far the most fun. I rebuilt a network entirely while it was running with the end users only ever seeing 1 reboot and 15 mins of downtime on the file server.
Second fav was building the network for the city of Fruitland MD. The toys the PD has there were quite fun as well.
