    Hi all,

All of these new laws have me thinking about other aspects of firearm laws. What if I want to bring a gun camping and keep it locked in the trunk - is that legal? How specifically does my DC status help in regard to transporting guns (I saw the other post on this)? Is a C&R license worth it? How would having a UTAH CCW permit work? Would I drive to the border of say, WV, take my pistol out of the trunk and stick it in my pocket?

    Cheers,

    Kevin

Camping on whose land? You would need the landowners permission.

A Designated Collector may transport guns for an informal show.

The C&R license allows one to purchase older surplus weapons without another license holder involved.

A Utah permit is invalid in MD.

Yes, it can work this way in other states. Just remember to remove it when you return to MD, And use a holster.

Many questions. Read around here a bit.

Unless you are engaged in one of the allowed activities in Statute 4-203, keeping it locked in the trunk would not be allowed unless you are on private property as mentioned. Definitely a no no if one anything other than private property.

If you drive into another state as your destination , follow their laws. If driving through the state and they are more restrictive , transport according to FOPA. (locked in trunk unloaded.)

Be very careful and read the laws of the state where your are going to.

www.handgunlaw.us is a good reference, but not definitive.

Not worth the hassle if you're staying in MD.IMO.

    IANAL
