    Hey everyone,

I had a quick question about bringing in regulated firearms. I moved to this state back in July, and I was wondering if it was legal to bring in a regulated firearm that I already own from out of state? I owned this firearm before 10/1/13. Would I have to register that weapon as well?

    Thanks

Keep in mind that MD State Police have not prosecuted very many (if any) straw purchases and have admitted that the shell casing database is a waste of money (not a single conviction from it). I'm not sure how you would get caught, unless you used it in a self defense situation and it was confiscated and then run against MD records.

If you became an MD resident BEFORE Oct 1, 2013, you do not need to register anything.

Actually the law says moving into MD with the intent of establishing residency.

And it seems you did this before the law went into affect.
