and he told me that he had a customer who wanted to transfer 48 AR lowers within his shop. Sounded great until he found out the buyer wasn't a designated collector. :sad20:

I ended up ordering three AR15 lowers this past weekend. I am not a collector but didn't think that was a big deal since I could just end up picking them up over the next 90 days. FFL told me that was against the law! If I know that come Oct 1st I can't get the "firearm" anymore I can't wait to pick them up.

Pfffft....Paper two, turn a DC letter, get it back approved 4 or 5 weeks later, transfer the rest.

    Done deal.

I seem to recall some legend of ar15.com where a guy posted about buying an absurd number of stripped lowers for personal use and got a visit from the BATFE. I never saw the original thread, though, just a bunch of people referring to it.

I wonder what kind of discount you'd get for ordering 48 lowers?

I think the discount is 10-25 at MD State or life at camp gitmo!

Sounds like he wanted to arm another 10 generations of his family.

I don't know--you build a couple of carbines, a nice varmint gun, couple of retro builds, a few service rifles, maybe an extra SR for Rattle Battle, a couple of NRA Highpower rifles, a solid 3-gun AR, etc....I bet one guy could get to 48 in no time, especially if he planned to stay in Maryland for the rest of his life.

    Free?? State
Maybe he was going to start his own brand and sell them out of State, maybe "Bottom of the Bay Black Rifles". Then when O'Malley's boys come knockin, he could tell them about the boating accident.
