I recieved a call from MD Elite Firearms that a WBP Mini Jack in 7.62 was denied transfer by the Maryland State Police as it is a banned weapon in Maryland. Has anyone ever run into this issue before? I don't even see WBP on the list on their website.

Did you check the handgun roster? If it's not on the roster and it's considered a handgun, then it can't be transferred in MD. It's a defacto ban.

MSP is very stringent on interpreting the roster. If the handgun is different even in a small way, then they will likely deny it. If the gun you bought is exactly what is on the roster and there was no mistake on the 77R, then I think you should appeal the decision

I feel like we are missing some information. If the weapon is and was submitted as a WBP Mini Jack on a MSP 77r form I do not see a reason for it to be denied.

Did they tell you the reason for the denial other then it is banned?

Got some clarification from Md Elite. Because the serial number starts with MJMR and not MJSR since the reciever is milled it is technically not on the roster list. I do know for a fact that multiple of the milled versions have been transfered into Maryland though.

Something is not right here. The WBP Mini Jack is on the handgun roster with N/A listed in the model number field. This means all models are approved. Hopefully MD Elite will go to bat for you on this. If not PM me and I will see what I can do.

Md Elite just wants to ship it back since the model number is not the SR. Sent a PM.

I agree with this. The OP's model (SR762C) appears on the roster verbatim. The serial number has nothing to do with the model number. (I have Maryland FFL experience)
If Rachael can't get it squared away, file an appeal.

Here are the Mini Jacks that are on the roster. The 762x39 that is in question here is not on the roster.
MINI JACK MJ556SRN/A223 Rem, 5.56X45 MM NATO
    MINI JACK SR762C10060, N/A7.62X39mm

Yep, that was what I got told by the Md handgun roster people. Arms of America is going to submit all of their available AK pistols for review. Apperently the others had being slipping through but MSP seems to have caught on by serial numbers.
