    Ben Winograd -

The Court has released the opinion in District of Columbia v. Heller (07-290), on whether the District’s firearms regulations – which bar the possession of handguns and require shotguns and rifles to be kept disassembled or under trigger lock – violate the Second Amendment. The ruling below, which struck down the provisions in question, is affirmed.

Justice Scalia wrote the opinion. Justice Breyer dissented, joined by Justices Stevens, Souter and Ginsburg. We will provide a link to the decision as soon as it is available.

I'm shocked at all the 5-4 decisions from these guys. aren't they supposed to follow the constitution, not their own political views? If so, shouldn't most decisions be 9-0
Watch your step, as you're getting off the banana boat . . . ;) :D

Of course, you're correct, but, there is no real compunction to follow any law or to interpret anything as it plainly reads by English grammar rules.

You would think, on a simple question like an inalienable right supposedly guaranteed in the Constitution, there would be no debate whatsoever.

But if the Constitution declared that "day is light and night is dark", despots and fools would find a way, over the years, to convince people that "day" and "night" are indefineable, "light" and "dark" are really just different shades of gray, and confuse the masses into believing that what it REALLY means is whatever they tell you it means.
