Picked this up a few weeks ago but haven't had a chance to take photos, let alone shoot it yet..

Not sure exactly why I bought it, I just thought it would be fun to have since I have several other 7.62x39 toys.. I can't wait to take it out to play :D

I purchased one when they were first indroduced.
One problem I have is use of large rifle primers. The firing pin doesn't go far enough to set them off. Too many duds. The same is for the Yugo surplus ammo. The primer is barely dented. In this case the primers are just too hard. I called CZ-USA and they sent me a stronger firing pin spring but the results were the same.
The use of Berdan or small rifle primers in R/P brass were no problem.

That is a purdy rifle. Already have other guns in 7.62x39? That's a good enough reason to get another.

Good to know.. Thanks Skip. I have a bunch of Yugo too - guess I'll save that for the AK's..

I know. I guess a better question would be what kind of groups do you get at 100 yards? I have a selection of old surplus ammo and it seems like that would be a cheap fun 100 yard gun for Elk Neck.

the extractor screams "im from a 1903 springfield!"

...even though that bolt design was stolen from the mouser...but whatever...

7.62*39 bolt guns are a blast. I have three of them and they are one of my favorite guns to take out and shoot.

I have found golden tiger to be the best out of the box. Though I am starting to work up some handloads.

I have even been debating getting the Savage FCM to in 7.62*39 to add to the collection but keep hoping they do a 300 blackout.
