You have undoubtedly outdone yourself yet again.

They are some of the best pictures I have ever seen, they bring the history of our Country alive, again. I was totally awe struck looking at them again and again. I always thought I would have liked to have lived in that era, now I don't think I'd be tough enough. Wow !

I know the obvious answer, but how and where did you find such fascinating portraits of early American life?

Dumb question, in picture #9 why are the ears missing from all the deer?
So they couldn't hear them coming?

    Great pictures. Thanks!
Looks like Shotgun Joe bagged himself a hawk or similar with his bolt-action shotty :D
Some of the widest Mule Deer racks I've ever seen.
Also, in pic 35- is that a 14pt deer hanging???

Excellent post! Reminds me of this painting, The hound and hunter, by Winslow Homer:

HUGE mulies in those pics! And I counted 12 points in that picture, but you can't see if there are brow tines....it is certainly a hammer though!

It's a Whitetail, so I was assuming brow tines. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't double counting some of those tines! :D

The technology gap is amazing to me. They wore a plaid shirt, a tie, fedora and brown pants and shot all those deer with a rifle with maybe a 2x scope that is meh by today's standards; and here we are with scent proof 3D camo clothes, military grade sniper rifles capable of hitting 600 yds. + with premium ammo, and brag about getting 5 deer. Amazing.
